• **Objective Paragraph:
Homelessness is a condition where people do not have a place to stay. When people are unable to find a regular, safe and secure place where they can spend a peaceful night, their situation is said to be of homelessness. The federal government’s Interagency Council on Homelessness estimated that around 76,000 people stayed in homeless conditions in 2010 only in New York. There are several impacts of homelessness on the nation, the economy and the survivors primarily. Several plans have been taken up by the government and the agencies of the government to provide shelter to the homeless. One such initiative is the Housing First that tries to help the homeless people to reintegrate into the mainstream society by establishing dwellings for them. The Community Partnership for Homeless in Miami has launched a national outreach program that intends to solve the issue by at least 40% by 2010. Nearly 62% of the population of United States spends their nights in cardboard boxes or open pavements or under the street lights. Philadelphia, Boston and New York City are also working towards this end in their local levels. The government is also thriving towards the eradication of this social issue. HUD and BUD mandates have been issued by the government and they are constantly monitored over the period of every two years. There are confidentiality and potential development issues in this. However, considerable development has been achieved in this end since its implementation in 2008. This is a major concern for the underdevelopment in this developed nation.
SOCIAL CONDITION IS A SOCIAL PROBLEM
According Padgett et al. (2011) structural changes in society and politics might be the cause of homeliness, the rapid changes in economic structure of USA helps the bottom of the society most. Minimum availability of jobs causes unemployment in the youth. Unavailability of home and perfect shelter causes depression and unhealthy situations. But according National Coalition Homeless organization Criminalization is a reason for homelessness, because they have to leave their houses for such illegal activities (Padgett et al. 2011).
Mental health problems, alcohol abuse, gambling problems are the cause of homelessness. Many people lost their houses on the gambling table. But on the other handhospitalization costs is also related to homelessness in New York City. High medicine costs believed to be the cause of homelessness.According to the New England Journal of Medicine data, in the year between 1992 and 1993, 18,864 people became homeless in the New York after admission into local hospital (American Psychiatric Association, 2013).
So an argument can be assumed as because of their different views on homelessness Padgett et al, (2011) did not focus on the reasons of hospital costs of the New York City, the hospital cost not always affordable for all people of New York. But there was also an excellent view in Padgett et al. (2011) about the socio economic view of the United States of America. Unemployment for insufficient jobs in USA affects the new generation and unfortunately old aged people also.
The above arguments based on the homelessness of USA depending upon different journals. This paragraph make easy to understand of the homelessness issue of USA.
