1. The introductory paragraph states the writer’s thesis (use your own words as far as possible). This can consist of a few short sentences, or a single all-encompassing sentence that encapsulates the issue that is the focus of the writer's work. You need to state whether you agree or disagree with the writer’s viewpoint, and provide brief reasons for your stand.   
Begin your answer in this manner:   
In the article “”, the author (author’s full name) claims that (Surname, Year). He/ she argues that firstly....Secondly, he/ she suggests that.....Thirdly, he/ she also claims that...xxxxxxxx. I strongly agree/ disagree with him/her because .. (Give a brief explanation here).   
(In short, your introductory (first) paragraph should contain a summary of the writer’s arguments, stating clearly his reasons (and assumptions). You should state these briefly, enumerating them using signals such as firstly, secondly etc. Your own point of view will be elaborated in subsequent paragraphs.)   
2. From the second paragraph onwards, you should bring in your own assertions about what has been stated in the paragraph above. Tackle each of the 3 (or more) reasons you identified in the introductory paragraph above systematically, identifying the fallacies, and providing reasons why they are unacceptable.   
By this, we don’t mean you merely give a list of the types of fallacies that you know of. You should mention the flaw in the argument (fallacy) and then use concession-refutation. State in what way the writer’s argument is flawed, and support your counter-arguments with evidence drawn from at least 2 external resources (the more sources you have, the more credible your argument will be.) This incorporates and synthesizes the views of others into your writing.
