All assessments are to be submitted via Turnitin on the Moodle site. Group assessments are to be submitted only once by any member of the group. Instructions for submission are on the site.
In order to safeguard against loss, ALWAYS keep backup copies of your assessment documents. All assessments are to be in MS Word format and should be typed using Arial font, size 11, single line spacing and with 2.54cm margins on all sides.
For group assessments, students are expected to select and effectively self-manage their groups. This can be done by drawing up group agreements, following through on commitments, pulling one’s weight, supporting each other, resolving conflicts and disagreements, and displaying other effective team behaviours. Social loafing or free-riding will not be tolerated. The Lecturer is to be notified immediately about group members who are not performing equitably or conforming to group agreements and standards. Students can form different groups for different assignments.
Assessments are to be submitted by the deadlines specified in the Course Schedule and Timetable as well as the Marking Guide section of this handbook. In the case of illness, injury or exceptional circumstances, an extension no later than the course end date may be granted. A Request for Extension form (available on Moodle) is to be completed by the student. Where a student does not submit an assessment by the due date/ time, the initial assessment attempt is deemed to have occurred. Completion of this assessment activity will be considered as a resubmission which will earn a maximum of 50% of the allotted marks for that assessment.
