For this assessment you will need to develop a short 3-5-minute presentation which you will submit online through MyLO to your tutorial group.
Presentations should be brief and you can use a range of media to present your work. For example, you may wish to develop a YouTube clip, a presentation using Powtoons, create an audio/music file, or a comic strip, or a newspaper clipping or some other form of media that captures the key information you wish to convey to your audience. To commence:
1. Select a journal article from a database that addresses a pain assessment or pain management strategy pertinent to your clinical area.
As example
•    Examining the research on the use of ice-cream to soothe a sore throat post tonsillectomy.
•    NSAIDs for arthritis
•    Krill oil for osteoarthritis
•    Music therapy for pain management during procedures
•    Combination therapies for chronic pain
2. Summarise the key points in the article into a short presentation for your fellow students.
3. Your aim is to clearly inform your fellow students about the key themes arising in the journal article and the importance or application of the assessment or management strategy for clinical practice. You may consider providing an alternate view to the journal article based upon evidence based practice.
4. Upload the file to the drop box allocated to your group or attach to your initial discussion entry (file size
permitting).
5. Add insightful referenced comments on at least two other student’s work that adds to their understanding of the subject matter. Each student must have been responded to in the group.
6. Summarise into a well referenced document your understanding of your topic based upon research into the
area and analysis of comments added by your fellow students.
7. Upload the summary into the assignment Dropbox for grading
