The essay must develop:
•    a clear argument.
•    use appropriate scholarly and non-scholarly evidence in an academically balanced manner.
•    have a coherent structure.
•    use in text citations correctly in the Harvard style.
•    include a bibliography of no less than eight references using a minimum of five SCHOLARLY references.
Part B (10%)
Using the review function in word, highlight parts of your paper and place the following comment in the margins of your essay (no more than 50 words per comment):
•    A note indicating the use of description - say why it was important in relation to the rest of the paper
•    A note indicating summary or paraphrasing - explain why this was necessary.
•    A note indicating you have evaluated some form of evidence in order to measure its worth in relation to your thesis statement. Explain what value you attributed to it.
•    A note indicating that you have undertaken some analysis (breaking something down to better understand it) AND/OR synthesis (recombination to make a point)
If you believe you cannot indicate one or more of these skills in critical thinking, say why that is the case at the end of your paper, before the bibliography.
Part C: (10%)
Repeat the above process with an essay you have submitted for another course.  Cut and paste this essay and position it UNDER your research essay (you do not need to submit it to the other course with these comments and indicators - only for 1019LHS)
