The topic is project management Firstly, your paper should be an essay about what you think, not what it says on Wikipedia, or in the textbook. Secondly, you should show some understanding of the topic that you have chosen - that does not mean that you need to write about it to any great extent or demonstrate technical understanding. All you need to do is show that you know what the topic is, and some of the main concepts within that topic. You then should explain why you think this body of knowledge will be of professional benefit to you. Both from the point of view of your own professional practice, and from the perspective of future career potential. But please note, the topic you chose should be one that you know little about. It would be pointless to discuss an area of practice that you already have experience in unless you feel a more technical understanding of that topic would be of strategic advantage to you. Thirdly, minimum research is required, all you need to do is quickly read through the appropriate textbook chapter (make sure you have a copy of the prescribed textbook) and demonstrate a basic understanding of the topic. There is no need explore the topic on the internet, or to search journal articles, or even read other textbooks. Just stick to a brief reading of the chapter in Meredith and Shafer, and write from you own mind, nowhere else. As this exercise is designed to get you thinking about the course and the topics we cover, the essay should be reflective of your thoughts. Therefore, similarity scores should be extremely low or zero, as each paper is meant to be a unique piece of writing that is specific to each individual student. There is not even any necessity to reference the textbook. Enjoy the exercise, it is designed to get you thinking, so tell us what you think, in your own words. And remember, this is not meant to be a major piece of writing, it should really only take an hour or so of your time (more if you are not fluent in English of course).
