You are the project manager for a commercial construction company that is carrying out the conversion of a residential building into a cafe and kiosk for the Canada Bay Council in suburban Sydney NSW. The client has requested a variation to the contract, to construct and install wine and beer cellar under the Store Room floor as shown on the attached drawings. Most of the construction and fit-out for the conversion has been completed in the Store Room and Kitchen, therefore, you will need to minimise disturbance to the finishes and components as much as possible. The cellar is to be 2.30m x 2.50m in the area and 2.70m high overall. The base, walls, and top are to be constructed from in-situ concrete with a hinged composite entrance hatch. Due to the difficulty of constructing the cellar within the existing building, the client has asked you to produce a method statement, before allowing the work to proceed. Set out your answer as a Method Statement briefly covering all areas and ensuring the following is covered. 1. Provideadetaileddescriptionoftheoperationsyouwillcarryoutinthe sequence that they will be completed. 2. Usediagramstoillustrateyourproposal. 3. Include a description of the plant, material and other resources you will use to complete the work including the trades personnel needed. 4. Identifytherisksthatmaybeencounteredwhilecarryingoutthevariation and how you will manage them. Information: I have attached the sample of a method statement; please use it. Please illustrate the cellar on a graph paper and attached in the method statement. Please don't describe what a method statement.
