Respond to ONE of the following statements, making your position clear and giving reasons for your answer. Write your essay after having read the marking matrix and essay guidance (see below).
Topic 1 It is ethically acceptable to refuse a solid organ transplant or to deâ€prioritise a patient when the patient’s prior behaviour has contributed to them requiring the transplant.
Topic 2 It could be argued that ethics is simply a facet of professionalism and should be understood, taught and practiced that way.
Topic 3 Proxy consent does not serve patients’ best interests.
Topic 4 The state should not interfere with pregnant women’s health behaviours.
Topic 5 Clinical ethics support is necessary for Australian health care.
