1.Make a poster that you could use in your practice laying out the correct procedure and order for donning PPE and then removing PPE when assisting in the treatment room. Include pictures and basic text so it can be easily understood by someone who does not have English as their first language.

2.Provide information on the required times that hand hygiene must be completed throughout a day. Provide either three signs or posters detailing the correct procedure and technique for effective Hand Hygiene by way of hand washing, hand sanitiser use and how to do a surgical hand scrub. 

3.You have been assisting with the surgical removal of tooth 38. Your patient has left the treatment room. Provide the decontamination procedures that you should undertake now that the patient has left the room and you need to have this ready for the next patient. Take into consideration the requirements for clinical/contaminated waste. As this was a surgical extraction the requirements for sharps disposal and surgery decontamination as well.

4.You are assisting the operator during the taking of an alginate impression for the maxilla and the manufacture of a mouthguard for a 12 year old boy. The impression tray was overloaded with alginate that was a little too thin. On the removal of the impression tray the child has vomited on the vinyl floor as he leaned forward. It is your task to clean the treatment room. 

In dot point format provide the requirements for cleaning the treatment room. You have vinyl floors and your practice has a spill kit available. Include information on where the spill kit is located, the contents, the clean-up routine and disposal, then the storage of cleaning equipment at the end of the clean-up.
