Introduction

I have been made the Media Director for a major London-based advertising agency. My first task is to introduce Kit Kat chocolate bars into India. In this paper, describes that as MD what is my social media plan to target the Indian customers. It also defines the target customers and delivery platform uses in the India.

In today’s more competitive, globalized, fast growing business environment, business firms use innovative and effective strategies in order to introduce their products as well as services into another market so that they can maximize their market share, improve profitability, improve brand image and achieve competitive advantages over the competitors. In the same way, Kit Kat is a wafer biscuit bar covered by chocolate that was produced by Rowntree's of York, England. Kit Kat chocolate bars is most popular in the US and UK region, but it is not popular in the India. Each Kit Kat bar consists of fingers composed of three layers of wafer that is covered an outer layer of chocolate.

In recent times, around 540 Kit Kat chocolate bars consumed every second worldwide and 17.6 billion chocolate bars every year that is recorded in the Guinness Book of Records in March 2010. At present, Kit Kat chocolate bar proudly celebrates its 75th birthday (Nestle, 2010).Apart from this; it is also found that, there are several companies that provide chocolate within the different brands in the India. So, it can be said that, there is more competition in this industry. For example, in India, several other types of chocolate are available and popular in the market. So, if Kit Kat chocolate bars wanted to enter into the Indian market then it will want to focus on marketing strategies to target the Indian customers.

In recent times, several chocolates brands available in the market, so Media Director is required to more afforded and focused on marketing strategies to create awareness and promoting the Kit Kat chocolate bars between the Indian customers. It is because marketing strategies are the important elements for the companies in order to achieve desired outcomes at the predetermined time period. Moreover, marketing strategies also offer significant opportunities to the companies so that, they can utilize organizational wide range of resources in an effective and more significant manner. In addition, the social media has become significant tool of marketing in India for the toffee and chocolate organizations.

Many toffee and chocolate organizations in India use the social media to create awareness and attract the Indian customers (Barker, Barker, Bormann & Neher, 2012). Effective use of social marketing could improve the sales of the toffee, candy and chocolate organizations and could lead to improve their performance in a competitive Indian market.  Hence, on the basis of this, it can be said that, with the effective proper utilizations of social media, the manager would be able to create a unique image of the brand in the mind of customers. So, social media marketing would play a more significant role in influencing the behavior of the customers regarding this well known brand.
