You have been hired by a new start-up company, Hot Mustard Productions, to help them get established and take on an ongoing role in a HR capacity. The business owner, Mr. Arthur Daley, is seeking your guidance and advice in establishing the HR functions and systems, as this is not his area of expertise. Mr. Daley has hired personnel to lead the future sales teams, and administrative staff to handle the day to day operations during the establishment phase. You have been asked to investigate HRIS systems and provide guidance for Hot Mustard in finding the systems most appropriate to their needs. Task 1 a) Identify and describe the possible needs of hot Mustard Productions HRIS users, and comment on your likely information requirements, and how you would obtain feedback on the effectiveness of your new HRIS. b) Prepare a discussion paper outlining the HRIS considerations above and the current and future information needs of the users. In your report outline a relevant organisational policy you would suggest for Hot Mustard to consider developing. c) Identify and explain what information you would need to discuss within the company and how you would communicate with the managers involved in setting up the HRIS. d) Draft an information systems management plan that includes proposed system objectives, methods of management and review, timeframes, system specifications, budget implications and any other relevant criteria that will aid in the selection of an appropriate system. e) Prepare a brief summary of possible resource implications of introducing a new HRIS. You do not need to include actual system costs, just give an estimation of the likely costs associated with your information systems management plan.
