Choose one question to answer from the two below:
Topic 1: Among the key features related to group performance are role perception, norms, status differences, size of the group, and cohesiveness. Looking at each of these in turn, what does the literature suggest about any differences between working in a group at university and working in a group at the workplace? Drawing on this literature, provide a discussion and conclusion as to how do you explain these differences, whether you see them as important and what you would recommend for future university group work outcomes be improved.
Topic 2: Few trends have influenced jobs as much as the movement to introduce teams into the workplace. While there is a large literature on this topic, the shift from working alone to working in teams seems at odds with our largely individualistic organisations and societies which attract and reward individual accomplishments. Drawing on the literature you have reviewed, provide a discussion and conclusion as to how can we create team players and effective teams in these environments.
