Task 1.1 (P1.1)

Formulate and record possible research project outline. Learners are requested to suggest one or two

project topic with outline.

Task 1.2 (P1.2)

Identify the factors that contribute to the process of research project selection. Minimum three factors

should be identified & be used to consider if learner should select the project.

Task 1.3 (P1.3 )

Undertake a critical review of key references. The review should include the study of primary and

secondary research approach and you should do a preliminary secondary research to understand more

about the possible area to be studied.

Task 1.4( P1.4)

Produce a research project specification. Typical Specification should include the Objective, rationale

for selection, method and analysis and the sampling plan.

Task 1.5 (P1.5)

Provide an appropriate plan and procedures for the agreed research specification. It should include

the resource and action plan to handle the project.

Task 2

Learners are requested to present the draft report at lesson 9 or lesson 10 ( 120 days from project

issue date). Then upon the comment from lecturer, learner can fine-tune the final report & submit it

with one more chance of resubmission.

The final report should cover the major information from project proposal in Task 1 plus the Task 2-

4 so that learners can integrate and present the whole process including project proposal,

implementation, evaluation and the presentation of the research project in a report.

Task 2.1 (P2.1 )

Match resources efficiently to the research question or hypothesis. Learner should proof that he/she

have a plan to do the research and have follow the plan to use the resources to carry out the plan.

Task 2.2 (P2.2 )

Undertake the proposed research investigation in accordance with the agreed specification and

procedures. Learner should follow the research specification and carry out the research procedure

accordingly.

Task 2.3 (P2.3)

Record and collate relevant data where appropriate. Learner should keep a good record or data sheet

indicate the management of the project plan.

Task 3

Task 3.1 (P3.1 )

Use appropriate research evaluation techniques. Learners should use the above research results to

evaluate if their project outcome meet the target specification.

Task 3.2 (P3.2)

Interpret and analyze the results in terms of the original research specification. Learners should make

a conclusion based on the interpretation and analysis and evaluate if it meet the finalized

specification.

Task 3.3 (P3.3)

Make recommendations and justify areas for further consideration. Learner should be able to give

limitation of existing study and make recommendation to overcome the existing limitation or follow up

on the finding of the results of this research method.

Task 4

Task 4.1 (P4.1)

Use an agreed format and appropriate media to present the outcomes of the research to an audience.

The presentation should include the objective, the methodology, the findings/results and

interpretation/analysis, the evaluation, recommendation and conclusion
