Graded Exercise – Research Paper The ability to objectively analyze arguments is a key component to critical thinking. For this assignment, you will start by researching an editorial article from any of the online news/newspaper websites. Once you have located and carefully read the editorial, write a two page paper that provides a researched analysis of the author’s claims. The paper should do the following: • Identify the main premise(s) of the argument and summarize the author’s position. • Determine the argument’s worthiness by using the four tests in Think Critically • Determine if the argument presents any logical fallacies. If no fallacies are present, describe how the arguments in the editorial are logical. • Evaluate the overall effectiveness of the argument. Is it credible? Is it logical? What methods does the author use that might not be identified in your previous analysis? Is the editorial convincing (it there a credible argument or not)? Why or why not? • Provide the link and APA citation information for the editorial you’ve used.
