The objective of the Individual Sales Pitch assignment is for students to clearly understand the techniques used for selling tours, and to enhance their sales skills for the upcoming group assignment at the end of the course.

Students are asked to individually sell an assigned tour/excursion using the basic sales principles and techniques learned in class.  These techniques include the promotion of the various benefits for the potential client through using evocative language, alliterations, and visual aids.  However, the most important component lies in the sales “close”.

Sales pitches should be kept to a maximum of 4 minutes each as it is not about how much you say, but HOW you say it.  And you must have a brief (but effective) close at the end of your pitch.

You may be inspired by one of the examples below, or you can choose your own excursion.  Remember this is to be an optional day trip that you are selling from the role of Tour Conductor or Destination Representative.  The destination can be anywhere.
