You are to choose an event that you have attended and write a reflective review demonstrating your understanding of content covered in the course. You will be assessed on your critical thinking skills, your understanding of key policy and strategy principles and how they relate to the event industry.

1. Choose an event you have attended. Name it in your response including a brief introduction as to what, where, when, and briefly write what the event is about.

2. Write a ‘reflective’ review of the event as it measures against the concepts/topics covered in this subject.  Your review should clearly ‘demonstrate’ your understanding of event policies, strategies and how this particular event can impact, generate business, government or community needs and objectives.

The best way to accomplish this task is to consider the following questions in relation to a specific event that you have attended or have knowledge of:

a) Did the event drive social or economic development for the event host or key supporters?

b) Who benefited from the event?

c) Was there a return on investment? How was this measured?

d) Why did the Government or Corporate support this event?

e) Were there negative impacts? How were these mitigated?

f) Is there an example of a competing event (public or private) that performed better on the delivery of community/corporate objectives?
