A participle is a word which is a combination of both an adjective and a verb. It is always used in simple adjectives in from of the nouns. However, it can be stated that a participle is a word which is generally formed by using verb and can be used as an adjective. The two different types of participle are the present participle which generally ends with “ing” and the past participle which ends with “d, t, ed, en, n”. For example, if there is a verb “to boil”. Then its past participle can be written “the boiled water” and its present participle will be “the boiling water”. Certain examples of past participle are painted frame, destroyed bridge, the broken window. The past participles are also used to form the verb tenses.  There is a form which is known as the perfect participle which is form by the addition of the word having before the past participle. For example, having played, having taken, having eaten. The participle can be both passive and active.

It is one of the important part in English as it helps in improving the command in English. The use of the participle is important to understand the English well with the usage of different form of participles. The present participles can be used in different ways in the sentences. For example: He is running along the road. It helps in indicating the activity which is in progress and also indicates the time of the speech. However, participle is important for English language.
