Zabbix (Zabbix.com, 2019) is a free open source asset surveillance instrument which can be used to track power consumption in a data center servers. Its backend is created using C and offers a PHP-based frontend for simple surveillance and setup and also a programmable third-party instrument installation. Installation of Zabbix surveillance can be performed using XML-based templates that comprise surveillance components. The program tracks functions on Linux, PaMac OS X, Hewlett Packard Unix (HP-UX), Solaris and many other operating systems (OSes), but Windows surveillance will only be feasible via agents. Zabbix involves an assistant that can be mounted on servers in a data center that requires to be supervised. Zabbix operators work on servers in the context and also provide controlled data regarding Central processing unit, storage, memory, network usage, and so on, and provide an interface by which Zabbix server can view and retrieve such data. Zabbix server displays data collected from Zabbix agents in a folder. This promotes numerous databases such as MySQL, IBM DB2, SQLite, Oracle as well as PostgreSQL.

Downloaded latest version of zabbix. The setup file was in ISO file format.

Created hard disk and CDD for this project. Mapped the downloaded zabbix appliance iso and started the VM

Started the VM. Installation of Zabbix vm went of for 15 min and finally completed successfully.

Before knowing what monitoring of resources is, Understanding what resources are valuable. It is possible to identify resources as CPU, memory, bandwidth, as wll as storage. "Resource monitoring was, at its easiest, nothing other than data about the use of one or even more program resources". Resource monitoring was important in several system administration situations as assets impact system performance in a way that requires careful management of assets.

There is now a requirement for monitoring VMs to our project as well as for discovering resources throughout the cloud. You could also done use the Hypervisor API to explore resources throughout the cloud environment. And then our method will be limited to such a specific hypervisor so we're using a resource tracking tool to monitor a cloud pool of resources in which we don't depend on a hypervisor that CloudStack uses.

Availability

The target device needs to be checked whether available or not. This can test as whether the target device is reachable or not. Some protocols like ICMB will run utilities like PING. If we get the PING response as shown in the figure, then that indicates that the target device is available. The path to the target device is connected and healthy.

Health

Whether all the controlling parameters of the device are within limit or not. If some of the parameters are deviating from the designed range then it can be interpreted as the device is not healthy.
