Part B: Paper

Part B is the completed position paper. Part B builds on the annotated bibliography and plan of Part A by expanding the literature search and developing a critical appraisal of the topic. A word limit of 1750 words is set for this part (excluding references). It should include more than 10 Articles excluding what have been done in Part-A.

Part-B should include:-

  • Introduction
  • 7-8 body paragraphs linking with each other taken from 10-11 Articles (from year 2008) and connecting with the articles from Part-A
  • You can also include any counter argument before concluding the position paper
  • Conclusion
The position paper is a natural extension of the preparatory work done in Part A. Your position paper needs to develop the arguability of the topic you have chosen and deal with an issue that has controversy and uncertainty. The issue needs to be narrow enough to be manageable and you need to identify two distinct positions.

Part B aims to assist you to integrate ideas, narrow and sharpen focus, analyse, interpret and develop sound and compelling arguments based on the evidence collected, and compose a compelling position. Part B requires additional references to be identified and analysed. You should focus so that one clear coherent idea is developed and an organised argument is crafted.

Your paper must include at least 10 relevant academic references (from year 2008+). The paper must not exceed 1750 words (+ or – 10%), it should be 1.5 spaced, 12 pt Arial or Times New Roman font, with margins 2.5cm. Include all in text and end text references as per the Murdoch guidelines

You must use APA6 referencing.

Important

  • The references contained in the “references” at the end of the assignment need to be on a separate page and be alphabetically ordered by surname.
  • Student ID and name/surname need to be on every page (footer).
  • Front cover needs to indicate word count (number of words of the assignment) Marks (10% or more) may be deducted if this is ignored.

One person per group to submit to the LMS

Word Count (number of words used, without including the exceptions) needs to be identified in the front cover of the assignment.

Marks will be deducted for non-compliance with the word limit (too few words will mean you are unable to do your topic justice … too many words means you have not been discerning enough in your selection of material or written succinctly enough).
