Structure of the report
This proposal will outline a proposed research project that could be completed by collecting data. Please note, you do not have to collect data. You only have to outline how a project could be completed. You will need to describe the type of data you would collect, if the project was actually undertaken. You will need to find a gap in the literature relating to your chosen topic. The proposal will describe how this gap could be filled.
1. The proposal typically adheres to the following structure: Your assignment must have following components.
2. Write an introduction of research proposal: In this section, you must provide sufficient background information to enable a reader to understand the motivations for your research project. Additionally, you are required to discuss your point of view as to why the research you are proposing is important and how it is important.
Identifying research problem and locating gaps in the literature may motivate your group to conduct the research, which should be stressed in this section as well. Synthesis of some numerical information, supporting opinions and contrasting points of view should be included.
3. Provide the specific objectives of research and state the research questions: In this section, you will clearly state what you want to achieve through your research study and what the questions your research study will seek to answer.
4.Identify the theoretical framework(s)/ theory that you are going to apply to answer your research questions and justify your chosen framework/ theories' appropriateness in the research project.
5.Review the relevant literature (prior academic studies) on your topic area.
In this section, you will collect and synthesize recent research articles and papers (preferably published after 2015) related to your topic area which will demonstrate your ability to read, think and develop your argument critically. You should include at least 5 articles published not
less than 3 years ago. In this section, based on literature review, you can also develop and propose hypotheses of your study (if you want to conduct your study using quantitative approach; remember not qualitative method).
6. Describe the research method to be used in the topic and critically evaluate why proposed methods are appropriate for your project.
In this section, you will clearly state how are you going to collect data for your proposed study. Data can be collected through various ways. For example, data can be collected through interviews, survey questionnaires, or based on publicly available information. If you are going to collect data through interviews, make sure you outline proposed time, length of interviews, places of interviews, profile of respondents, sample of interview questions, language to be used in interviews, and nature of interview (open or semi-structured).
If you collect data through survey questionnaire, you must mention information about sample questionnaires, scales used to quantity questionnaire, target respondents, number of survey participants etc and give a sample survey questionnaire in the appendix.
7. Discuss the possible implications and contributions (both academic and practical implications and contributions) of your research project, state any limitations of the research project and any future research opportunities beyond the scope of your proposed research.
Referencing:
-You must give list of the article you have consulted following Harvard Referencing style.
-2000 words maximum (excluding reference and appendix). Strict penalty will apply for exceeding the word limit.
