a. Explore the diverse contemporary practice of Naturopathy and Western Herbal Medicine and its historical influences.
b. Review the development of CM systems of medicine and traditional healing practices in Australia.
This assessment is aimed at developing the student’s ability to reflect on their learning and discuss content and share ideas in a professional online environment. The assessment will develop cognitive and critical thinking skills essential for a career in the health profession.
By prescribing this assessment, students will develop their researching and referencing skills. The key understandings developed in this assessment relate to outlining and discussing historical influences of CM and how they have influenced the contemporary practice of the Naturopathic and Western Herbal Medicine profession. This assessment allows students to broaden their own understanding of each principle and overall philosophy of Naturopathy and Western Herbal Medicine through engaging in academic discourse, while developing their skills to engage in formal discussions with their peers.

Step 2: Create a timeline from ancient societies to current day that indicates key developments in the history of medicine including modern complementary medicine with emphasis on the development of modern Naturopathy and Western Herbal Medicine for each item or image added to the timeline write a very brief outline of what the image represents. For example, you can have an image of Hippocrates and in the text box adjacent to the image state the era (eg 460BCE) and what Hippocrates contributed to the development of medicine.
Step 3: For each item or image please provide image credits, which is the reference for where you obtained the item or image. For any information you provide in the text box
adjacent to the image please provide an in-text reference for where you obtained your information. At the end of the Timeline Project please provide a Reference List of all the
references you have used for images and text.
