Task:

Compulsory Class:

Introduction to Business Research In this subject, you are required to write a research report analysing one of the key business issues faced by the visiting company (or as your lecturer instructs you) and make research-based recommendations to address the business problem. The topic of your study will be given by your lecturer as part of a senior manager's presentation in your class.

An expert from an Australian based organisation will be coming to the class in week 2 to present the key research topic, scope, resources, and timeline. This lecture is compulsory for all students. There are three assessment tasks in this subject (Research Proposal, Final Report, and presentation of key findings and recommendations). Students are required to prepare a research project proposal for approval prior to progressing to other assessment tasks.

Use secondary and primary data to gather information based on the research problem and questions, discuss relevant literature, develop an appropriate research design (methodology), analyse and discuss relevant data, and document recommendations and conclusions. Very Important: It is important for you to read and understand the key concepts outlined in the online research modules. This will provide you with the foundation required to develop your proposal and report. You can access resources and do activities of this module in the eLearning site of this subject.
