STUDENT ASSESSMENT INSTRUCTIONS
To demonstrate your competency in this unit you must successfully complete both theory and practical assessment tasks. The practical assessments will be conducted at a date and place to be advised by your Trainer/Assessor.
All questions must be answered correctly for each assessment task to be completed satisfactorily. There is no restriction on the length of the question responses, or time restriction in completing the assessment, unless specified.
You must complete all questions unassisted by the assessor or other personnel, but may refer to reference material as needed.
This assessment consists of five (5) written questions and tasks. You must complete them all. Carefully read and answer the following questions by writing a response for each question or completing the tasks. Most are short answer questions though some require a more detailed response. You may use dot points where appropriate. You may use reference material to assist you such as texts and the internet, but you must correctly cite your sources.
Students should provide typed responses and may use various sources of information including textbooks, learning workbooks, other documents and the internet. Students must list their sources.

Outline organisational systems and procedures that relate to sustainability. Give three (3) examples.
Question 2
Outline the environmental or sustainability legislation, regulations and codes of practice applicable to the organisation.
(a) Give at least eight (8) examples of legislation.
(b) List two (2) ISO Standards for environmental issues

If you were developing policy and procedures for sustainability, what are the internal and external sources of information you could use to get information and advice? For each of the following types of sources, give examples and explain how they can be used to plan and develop the organisation’s sustainability policy

(a) Explain the following policy development processes and practices.
Question 5
Outline typical barriers to implementing policies and procedures in an organisation and possible strategies to address them. List three (3) barriers and for each identify 2 strategies to address them.
