The Importance of Globalization in Social Movements Today

Globalization and Social Movements

I had an order but the expert didn’t answer my question as I requested so I need to add 300 words to this question 3 in this assignment (Order ID#1773465) The question is: Explain the importance of globalization in social movements occurring today and provide examples. And this what was the expert answer so I just need an additional 250-300 words to this question. ?Globalization is the process of integration of global culture, exports, economy, market, social issues, practices, and even diseases such as the Wuhan virus that China exported to the world and made the globe to be confined within four walls ( Bodislav, Niculescu & R?dulescu, 2021). Since, globalization converted the entire market of the world into a free and integrated one that facilities unbridled trade and business, some of the local businesses have huge probability to cripple. Hence, massive surge and people upsurging have been seen as a form of social movements that resisted the rise of globalization and these anti-neoliberal movements are called occupy movement that spread after the immediate consequence of the Arab Spring. Strategies, goals, tactics, actors, and emergence of the world-wide social movements have gained a new momentum after the globalization of nations, people, and media (Zhu, 2017). Social and political struggle and unrest of the people have gained a new pace that is being repeatedly strengthening over the last few years that empowered the voices of the people, strengthened the values and power of democracy, and the importance of addressing the peoples’ needs. Like any other movements and uprisings, most of the global movements started local and then spread across the borders and transantionalized via integrated regular and social media, and pluralistic societies consisting of people of various nations. The Landless worker’s movement of Brazil, Mexico’s Zapatista movement, Me Too movement, and the Black Lives Matter movement are the perfect of examples of the importance and active role of globalization in social movements occurring today (Prempeh, 2017).
