The goal of this assignment is to examine a recruitment strategy by providing recommendations backed with research. You will produce a report on how to best attract candidates to an organization. NOTE: While Covid-19 has hurt the recruitment practice for tourism, you may consider approaching this assignment thinking about 2022-25 when tourism plans its recovery. You may also examine recruitment through a here and now approach, exploring impacts of the pandemic and how recruitment has changed.
Be sure to include relevant data with in-text citations to support your claims. Minimum of 8 pages double spaced text, not including cover page or appendices. Minimum 5 references to be included.
Report Deliverables include:
Evaluate the employer branding and Employer Value Proposition (EVP): What is the perception of the organization? How does the employer differentiate themselves? Share strengths and opportunities. Share best practices from Top 100 employers or competitors on how your client might gain the attention of prospective employees.
Generation Z: What is the organization doing to attract Generation Z? Are the motivations of this age group considered from what you found in your research? Does the organization advertise personal growth and leadership development - is it effective as a recruitment tool?
Job Posting: Review a job posting and/or role description and provide your input. What surprises you about the job specifications? Do you agree with what is required? Does the job description or posting speak to organization culture or job enrichment? How could the description be improved upon? Include a copy of the posting in your appendix.
Job Interview Questions: Design three interview questions you would ask a candidate (from the job posting you selected). Don’t just write generic questions, link them to the job description and position requirements. Explain why you chose these questions.
Candidate Experience: Outline the experience the candidate faces when applying for a position with the company. What is the process? Do unnecessary hurdles exist?
Strategies for Recruitment: How might the organization expand their candidate pool and attract diverse candidates from the protected groups? How can they ensure they are attracting the best candidates? Provide three ideas and an explanation for why you selected these approaches.
