This assignment will have you practice what you’ve learned about SEO in order to maximize an organization’s SEO marketing strategy. You will use online tools to research keywords and trends to create an SEO strategy to optimize an upcoming marketing campaign.
One of the most fundamental aspects of SEO marketing is being able to understand keyword trends to maximize your placement in searches related to your organization.
This assignment forms part of your “Assignments” grade at the end of the course. When you have completed your assignment, follow your instructor’s directions to submit it for grading.
You work for an independent pharmacy (do not pick a brand!) who has fairly strong online presence. Their website includes a well-read blog that covers a wide range of health issues and an e-mail newsletter with 1,500 subscribers. They have accounts on Instagram (2,000 followers), Twitter (3,000 followers) and Facebook (7,000 followers).
Flu season is coming up and you need to create an SEO marketing proposal around the promotion of flu shots in the Calgary area.
Determine at least two (2) objectives and write a short description (50 words max) explaining what they are and how you think they will benefit the organization.
Example: Increase of water buffalo traffic to the oasis. This will help empty the oasis water while also gathering water buffalo friends and family to a common area which improves morale.
In order to create your document you will need to determine at least the following elements. You may need to do more research but this is the bare minimum you’ll need to know.
• Ideal starting month (provide rationale and data)
• Top 15 keywords/queries in Alberta/Canada relating to flu shots (with scoring number)
Select the 5 best keywords for the final proposal
Create a professional proposal document outlining how the organization can achieve their objective(s) using the info from your analysis to maximize their flu shot related SEO. Your proposal must use at least three (3) different online platforms that the organization is currently using to accomplish the objectives.
Example: We will have the giraffes start a whisper campaign that will make the water buffalo think the oasis is a real cool place to be. We’ll also offer discounts for gazelle and then the water buffalo will see them heading towards the oasis which will increase their interest. Finally we will set up a giant speaker beside the oasis that plays only The Best of Smash Mouth which, as everyone knows, is a favourite of water buffalo and will draw any remaining water buffalo to the oasis.
• Description (max 100 words) of how you will use 5 of your keywords to reach your goal
• Description (max 100 words) of why you selected 5 of your keywords to reach your goal
• Which platforms (social media, newsletter, blog, etc.) you will use and how you will use each as part of the SEO strategy
• How long the campaign will run and how often you will measure it
• What does success look like?
• Back up your decisions with data (with citations). Show screenshots, citations, whatever it takes. Imagine I am your boss and I don’t want to have to go find the details on my own. I’m busy!
Submit a single PDF to the D2L drop box. Some of your pages may only have a small amount of content on them. That is okay. Be creative with how you design your proposal. Create a brand if you want. Try to sell your proposal with flashy design!
