This individual assignment constitutes 40% of the overall assessment for the module, BM5812 Business Process Management. The assignment covers the topic on Principles & Concepts.
The assignment provides the learners to explore the business process management topics through research and analysis. Learners will choose one of the client-based scenarios given in this guide.
Learners will research, analyse and make a recommendation on the scenario by submitting a written assignment of 800 to 1,000 words (excluding reference and appendix).
Based on the context, learners will go through the business research process to formulate your research objectives, collect and analyse the information to form meaningful conclusions to support your proposal

Requirements

2.Each learner will choose one of the following case scenarios
a.A bank which is looking into outsourcing arrangement for its selected ICT (Information & Communication Technology) functions.
b.A supermarket chain which wants to outsource some services or functions for its e-commerce sales.
c.An insurance company which wants to outsource its general enquiry hotline in its contact centre services.
d.An oil & gas manufacturing firm which wants to outsource its selected human resource functions.
3.As a corporate analyst of the selected organisation, learners are to advise the company’s CEO on outsourcing issues. The CEO has requested learner for a briefing to the senior management team on the potential areas that are being outsourced.
4.Learners are expected to present the following points in the report:
a.An executive summary to broadly list down the key points of discussion.
b.An introduction of the report that describes the selected organisation and the objectives of your report.
c.Describe the potential of outsourcing department in the company with relevant justifications.
d.Illustrate the business process of the potential department to outsource using clear process maps to outline the main task of the department.
e.Discuss the issues in the current process and provide reasons for outsourcing the department by providing the benefits and costs overview.
f.Evaluate various methods of outsourcing decisions by discussing the key advantages and disadvantages for your management’s consideration.
