Challenges of implementing project monitoring process
Project monitoring process is very much needed in any organization. It helps in analyzing the situation and to respond to that accordingly. It also ensures that if all the activities are carried out in a proper manner by the appropriate person in charge and to see if they are facing any problems in their project. But there are some challenges that it might face while implementing. The issues are:
- Project Objective: Projects are meant for the long term so it is necessary to outline of the objectives. When setting up the project, if the objectives are not clear then it becomes very difficult for the managers to manage the team and there may be a no communication among the workers which can heavily affect the work area.
- Collection of data: Collection of data is very much important for any organization as these helps to identify what is needed for the organization but often these are difficult to collect as to collect the data, huge market needs to be analyzed and data to be collected from every sector. Without the proper data collection, the organization may face problems in analyzing the data. Wrong data can also affect the project development and can halt the process also. Collection of data also helps the organization to know the market more clearly.
- Institutional Arrangements: Capacity building is widely accepted but it is often poorly defined. Upgrading the skills in project monitoring which includes project analysis, designing of indicators and reporting systems helps in strengthen the organization but is not fully reached due to improper training or lack of proper tools.
- Decision Making: Decision making is crucial for any company as it decides the factors on which how the company will process but if becomes difficult for the company to make any sort of decisions if there is any lack of data or data is wrongly collected. Without proper data, it becomes very difficult for the company to make any decisions and without proper decision making; the company may face some serious problems.
Double Loop in organizational learning
Double loop learning focuses on decision making rules. The first loop is responsible for the decision making and the second loop makes the necessary modification that is required. Double loop illustrates the way in which any problem is described. It is the process of detecting and rectifying the errors. Double loop helps in identifying that problem. If there is any problem with the learning process, with the help of double loop it can be detected and afterwards modifications can be made accordingly. This helps in an organization greatly as if there is any problem among the employees in understanding and then it can be modified and rectified for the better understanding (Hitt 2013). These are managed by the experts in the group of people and are also an effective form of learning. In double loop learning, it is very important to analyze and think on the work in order to know the problem up close. Better decision making and analyzing the problem is possible with this type of learning. With the help of double loop, the underlying mistakes can be understood and can be corrected. Double loop learning helps in eradicating the root causes of the action. It usually works in a tactical level. Double loop learning helps in organizing the people in an organization so that they become more responsible towards their work (Harvard Business Review 2017).
