BSBMGT624 Develop And Impelment Corporate Social Responsibility

As a travel company, a new CSR policy will give the employee clear reasons why the business is socially responsible, and it also helps the company to determine with the public that the company can be environmentally sound.

There are three drivers that we need to consider before we are going to implement the new CSR policy:

1.     Value: Is this policy going to help the business? What is the reaction of employee to this policy?

2.     Strategy: When implementing this policy, it must be related more about socially and environmentally. 

3.     Public Pressure: How is the public react to our latest CSR? Is it good or bad? If bad, what area we need to improve on (labour standards, human rights…)

Generating some key indicators based on our existing CSR policies or review the CSR reports of other companies. After that, we can use those key indicators to measure how far of that CSR work in the business.

Goals- Improve business reputation and positive publicity through the new CSR policy and make sure the employees fully understand why we need this CSR within the organisation.

The drivers in this situation are going to be the government, organisation’s stakeholders and the competitors.

The expected  benefits are:

More travellers choose to go and explore Kenya (safari)

Positive reactions from employees and stakeholders with the new CSR policy

Not only employees, but customers need to understand why we developed this CSR policy for our organisation.

5.    General opportunities and barriers to Implement CSR activities in Explore IT

There are a few opportunities here  if we are going to implement this CSR in Explore IT:

-          Increase sales – generate more tours to meet traveller’s requirements  (for example, 3 tours of the safari instead of 2 within a day)

-          Brand recognition – people will think of our organisation first before they go on holidays.

-          Partnerships - Attract more investors to invest in our organisation.

-          Transparency –Nothing to hide, this will make customers feel safe while travelling with us.

There are also a few general barriers that we need to look out for this CSR activities such as language, time zone, different cultures, expensive for customers (price) and legislation

6.    Stakeholders that may be affected by CSR activities

The stakeholders are going to be local community, customers, CEO, directors, volunteers, employees, suppliers and the partners of the organisation.
