The configuration of the joomla website has various steps ,some of these includes

Creating the database.

This is done by opening  the xampp server through the browser and creating database called digitalDB  as follows .

Click the phpmyadmin to open database panel

 

Installation of the joomla file

Download the joomla 3.7.1 with virtuemart in it and install it as follows.

Fill in all details as follows.

Install database below.

Install sample data and the joomla site by clicking install

Wait till the bar is completed and then delete the installation folder.

After the installation of the joomla now the various components are created  including the shopping cart ,this is done through the vertmat as below.

Populating the Shopping cart

Add new category

Fill in details as follow then save and close

Select on product and create new product.

 Enter  then save and close the products.

Then create a shop as follows.

Create the shipment method.

Enter details and then save and close.

To create a contact form first category.

Add contact now.

Link now  contact us  category to menu.

Creating the google page by first configuring the default editor to none as follows.

Choose none-editor for default editor.

The project implemented is all about the e-business where the JUMIA TRADERS website is created with the content management system technology  where after the implementation the system will be able to allow the customers to create an account that they will be using for the buying of some products.

The customers will also be able to contact the vendors through the phone number or by sending a message through the contact form provided.

However the customers after login into the system they will be able to select some items add them to the cart and then pay for them including for the shipment cost.

On the other side the admin will be given different privileges where after login he is able to update any new product that is brought to the company and thus improving the management of their records.

Configure

The e-business website implementation was developed using various resources which includes:

1. Joomla 3.7.1 tool. This was used during the installation and design of the website’s contents.

2. Vertmart extension tool.This is the tool that was used to install the shopping cart in the website.

3. Shopping cart extension.This is used to add the cart option to the website developed.

4. Google map tool.This is the tool used to add the google map in the website.

5. Xampp server software.This is the tool used to create the database of the website.

6. Computer.This is used to do the overall work to configure and publish the website

7. Internet Modem .this is the garget used to access intrenet allow display of some items like the google maps.

This is a report about the e-business implementation, this where the website is implemented using the content management system, for our case the tool used is the joomla software which is used in connection to some of plug-ins and  extensions .

However the e-business website will have various services to offer to the users, where the admin will be able to approve the registration of the customers through the website and also be able to add the products in the stock as well as updating the stock record.

The customers will however be able to create their own accounts that they will be using  while buying goods from the company, however after login the customers  will be able to   add products to the shopping cart and also make the payment through the PayPal system where the system will print invoices to them as well, the customers also will be able to send message to the vendor through the contact forms and view their location through the map page.

The implementation of this system will therefore result to increase of the customers, improvement of the customers services, easy purchase and payments and increasing of revenue to the company.

This  is a report about the e-business system implementation , in the JUMIA TRADERS company which is located in Kenya, this system is proposed to be implemented in order to ensure the market  of this organization has expanded to again more profit. However below is the comprehensive aims of this e-business.

The e-business has become the most profitable business in the current computing world , this had been made possible by the utilization of the e-commerce technology that has been introduced , this helps in development of the websites using the content management systems.

The JUMIA TRADERS e-commerce development had various aims which includes the following.

The e-business site will cover various entities which includes the system administrator where he will be able to login into the system and then update the stock and the new stock arriving ,he will also be responsible of the approval of new registrations through the website.However the system will also involve the customers , where the customers will be able to create an account through the provided registration form in the system ,after doing the registration the customer will then login to the system where he can buy various items by adding them to the cart, after the placement of the items in the cart the customer will proceed with shopping where he will then select the shipment methods .

Then finally the customer items payment will be paid using the PayPal email that he entered during the registration process.

The development of this e-business system will however solve most of the challenges that the company faces, and as a result improve the level of income that get into the company.However there are some of the limitations in this system which includes the following:

1. The system will not allow the customers to have the physical access to the products before they buy.

2. The system will display some of the products but the customers has to order since they are not in the stock.               

3. The system will not enable the customers to receive instantly the products bought after the payments the products has to be shipped to him.               

4. The customers buying the items through the system will have to incur extra expense to pay for the shipment costs.

5. The company will be forced to buy more vehicles to transport the products to the customers and even contracting the flight companies fro the shipment oversees.

The JUMIA TRADERS company currently is running a electronics related business  which mainly deals with the selling  of the  computers ,phones and laptops this company has operated for a long period of time and its profit has stagnated.

The stagnation of profit has been brought by the access to the customers and poor services delivery to the customers as well ,however below are the major challenges that  the company is facing  in the current state.

1. Low gain of the business profit.
2. Loss of the business customers since most of them are taken by the competitors with the e-business sites.
3. Poor communication and customer care services since they don’t have any forum to allow the engage their customers.
4. Lack of good records storage systems ,this leads to easy loss of the business information.
5. Poor decision making ,which is caused by lack of analyzed information about the registered customers.

Therefore the above challenges will only be solved by the implementation of the e-business site for this company which will highly boost the business performance.

Proposed solutions

Due to the various challenges faced in the current system used in the JUMIA TRADERS Company, the only possible solution after the analysis is the use of the e-business system which will highly boost the services delivery, customer relations and in return increasing of the business profit .The proposed e-business site will however have the following features. 

The administrators catalogue to add the products online.

The administrators will be having the login details that he uses to login where he is able to add new stock and also update stock if the is almost finished.

The customers registration form to enable them to login and place orders to the company.

The customers however will be provided with a form where they will register in to the system using their user names and the pass word which are stored in the system forever unless removed by the administrator.

The customers will be able to place orders of some products available in the company.

The customers after login they will be able to view the products ,their prices and then using the shopping they will be able to buy those goods.

The customers payments option.

Description of Project Reflections

After placing of the items to the shopping cart the customers will be able to pay directly through the PayPal  using the merchants email address entered  during the registration period.

The customers goods shipment option.

Before the payment the customer will then  provide the shipment details if the products will require to be sent to the customers instead of him picking on his own.

The contact details for the company management.

The site will also have the contacts details where the phone number ,email address and the postal addresses are provided to the customers to allow them to enquire from the vendors.

The site will have the contact form for the customers to send the messages to the management

However the site contact section will also have the form where the customer can send an email to the vendors directly by entering their email address and contacting them using the written message for any query (Marni,2015).

The system delivered has many advantages to the company though the implementation of the  various features of the website (Jennifer, 2013)..

However below are some of the recommendations to be done in the system.

1. To allow the automatic registration of the customers instead of waiting approval from the admin side.
2. The company should ensure that the products bought are delivered on same day.
3. The system should implement a chat option to allow the customers to engage the vendors through the chart .
4. The company should also stock the most ordered products instead of customers waiting for them to be ordered.
5. The system should be integrated with an SMS system to allow the customers to receive notification once their ordered items arrive in the company.
