A research is defined as a systematic investigation of study of resources and materials to establish facts and reach a conclusion that has not been found earlier. A research might be defined as a systematic inquiry in order to describe, explain and observe the phenomenon on which the research is being conducted. Research methods are mainly of two types. These are deductive and inductive methods (Calik and Sözbilir 2014). A research contributes four types of education. These are description, prediction, improvement, explanation. Researches could be conducted for various purposes. These are basic research, applied research, evaluation research, and action research (Kinchin and Cabot 2016). A research needs to be conducted in such a way that the issue highlighted before the research is conducted, is solved or possible solutions are recommended by the end of the research.
Experience related to educational research
Educational research refers to a wide range of methods in which the researcher evaluates the various aspects of education such as the ways of learning, various methods of teaching, training as well as classroom dynamics. My experience in educational research is enriching and a good learning experience. In order to conduct the research, I had read a huge number of books, peer-reviewed journals and reports related to the topic. After reading the resource materials, my knowledge regarding the topic has been enriched. After reading and reviewing various articles on the focus area, an appropriate topic is to be chosen. After the topic is selected and finalized, I need to ensure that the essential aspects of an educational research are fulfilled. The key aspects of educational research include the following:
An education research attempts to solve an issue that exists in the real world, hence as I start the research, I needs to ensure that the research solves a real world problem.
Educational research involves gathering adequate information from primary and authentic sources. As I conduct the research, first hand sources need to be collected (Smith 2015).
Educational researches are usually based on empirical evidences or observable experience. Hence, I need to ensure that empirical evidences are provided in my research.
As a researcher I have to ensure that the observation and descriptions are accurate and authentic.
Educational research emphasises on careful design and presentation of rigorous analysis (Zohoorian and Rahimi 2016). I have to ensure that the most appropriate research design is selected by me. Rigorous analysis has to be conducted, to ensure authenticity of the research.
The emphasis on the relevant principles and theories has to be applied successfully in order to provide a strong platform to the research.
At the end of the educational research I have to ensure that the key aspects have been met. Moreover, while doing the research, I faced certain limitations such as shortage of articles on the specific topic. Moreover, lack of time was also a limitation that hindered in depth research. The overall experience was a positive one, and this experience would be helpful for me in future researches.
