Questions:

1) An introduction stating the structure of your essay .

2) A brief review of relevant literature to show:

(a) your understanding of the concept of ethical decision making and its relationship to effective managerial practice,
(b) what capabilities and skills are necessary to promote good ethical decision making,
(c) a discussion of how personality (including the validity of personality measurements) relates to good ethical decision making, and
(d) a one-paragraph summary of the literature review towards the end of the section.

3) An evaluation which is based from a minimum of three questionnaires that you are instructed to take in the current unit. Specifically, you should include the Big Five personality instrument and two other questionnaires. Refer to Blackboard modules link to access these. Think critically about the results.

4) A thorough plan that specifies your individual goals. Provide two goals and each must have its own plan which is clearly structured using the SMART goal framework. This framework can be found on Blackboard under Assessments. Informed by your evaluation, you will review your current capabilities and focus on two skills/abilities that you will plan to improve upon. You will also indicate how and when you will learn them, and how you will know you have learned them.

 S.M.A.R.T. Goal Guidelines

Developing a S.M.A.R.T. goal requires considerable thought and commitment. Goals help you to identify what you want to achieve and ensure that the goal is realistic. SMART goals also help determine a realistic deadline. When developing a S.M.A.R.T. goal you need to use very concise language to describe the key components of what you are trying to achieve. This must include all relevant information and be written in a way that can be understood by others (especially if you are completing this as part of an assignment). As the goal is being designed to help you succeed, you should write in a positive tone. Here are some key questions to answer when developing each goal. Not every question will be relevant to your goal but you need to ask yourself them all to decide.

Initial Goal (Write the goal you have in mind)

  1. Specific (What do you specifically want to accomplish? Who needs to be included? When do you want to do this? Why have you selected this goal? Are there any limitations/conditions that impact this goal that need consideration?)
  2. Measurable (What is the baseline measurement data for this goal (i.e. how can you show what your current ability is in terms that can be counted? How will you measure progress? How will you know if you have successfully met your goal? What systems or other input is required to measure progress/completion?)
  3. Achievable (How is this goal to be accomplished? Do you have the skills required to achieve the goal? If not, can you obtain them? Where from? What is the motivation for this goal? Is the amount of effort required on par with what the goal will achieve?):
  4. Relevant (How is this goal relevant to your workplace development or performance? What impact will it have on you? What impact will it have on the organization you work for or will work for? Is it aligned with your overall objectives? Is it the right time to be setting this goal? Can you justify your answer?)
  5. Time-bound (What’s the deadline to achieve this goal? Is this realistic? What evidence do I have that it is realistic? What needs to be done in the short, medium and long term to achieve this goal?)

S.M.A.R.T. goal (Review what you have written, and craft a new goal statement based on what the answers to the questions above have revealed)
