People have different cultural perspectives regarding certain issues around us in the society. It is, therefore, paramount to understand the different views of different persons and acknowledge their diversity. I happened to have family members who have varying opinions operations some matter such as reading books. I always find it awkward when someone starts a conversation about an evaluation of a certain book without even recognizing the fact that there might be others who have not read the respective book. I understand that everyone has the right to air out own opinion on the topic of their choice. Nonetheless, it bothers one to engage in a conversation that is totally off the topic. In my opinion, I think it is logical to establish common grounds for people you are conversing with to ensure that everyone is comfortable and conversant with the topic of discussion.
It is common for people to have different ideas and interests in life. In this case, my cousin likes reading and talking about books. I find it odd sometimes to strike a conversation with a friend whereby they have no idea or knowledge about the topic at hand. People ought to understand that communication is a core aspect of building a good rapport with others. As a result, one should have an open mind when conversing with other people in order to avoid any unprecedented schism. There are some factors one has to put into consideration when striking a conversation with other people. For instance, it is usually prudent to comprehend the fact that some topics might end up offending or hurting other based on their content (Galvin, Braithwaite, & Bylund, 2015). To this end, I always find it vital for one acknowledge and appreciate the diversity of others in order to ensure positive association.
There is a direct relation between communication and problem-solving practices. From an organizational perspective, people ought to communicate effectively in order to bring different ideas and opinions on the table. The idea of listening to each other is paramount in ensuring that every person’s contribution has been put into consideration. It is important for people to espouse certain qualities and values that will enhance coordination and ensure a peaceful coexistence (Poza & Messer, 2001). Despite the fact that people might have different sides of the story, it is necessary to promote cohesion by respecting the diversity of social, cultural, or even religious views. The modern world is full of critiques and people will try to air out their view in different ways. Therefore, the society ought to understand that everyone is entitled to their view regardless of their background.
