1.2 Examine two (2) current human resource management issues faced by your selected organisation.

a. Analyse and outline root causes of each issue.
b. Explain how you could resolve each issue.

2.1 Identify two (2) different HRM practices you could implement in the organisation to enhance business sustainability and:

a. Analyse and outline the details of each new practice.
b. Outline two (2) advantages and two (2) disadvantages of each new HRM practice.
c. Outline two (2) benefits to the future of the organisation by implementing each new HRM practice.
d. Formulate a plan as to how you would apply each new practice to the organisation.

2.2 A recent business organisations survey identified the issue of many staff being under-utilised in the skills that they possess while some staff do not have sufficient skills for the positions that they are in.

Identify and evaluate two (2) strategies that your business organisation could use to address this issue of staff having and applying appropriate skills in the future.

2.3 Management has reviewed and updated its strategic plan. One of the findings of this review is that 15% of the organisation's current staff are planning to retire over the next two years and recruitment of new and replacement workers has become increasingly competitive. The outcome of the strategic planning process was to develop a strategy to make the organisation more favourable amongst prospective employees and have a higher retention rate.

Recommend two (2) possible HRM planning strategies to meet the organisation's strategy to overcome this issue. Justify your recommendation.

3.1 Assess the external environment that may impact in meeting strategic objective of the business organisation. In your assessment, you will consider the economic indicators, technological and cultural shifts, labour and societal changes in the New Zealand environment.

3.2 Analyse two (2) strategies that an Human Resource Manager can use in a performance management function to meet the needs of existing staff and motivate them to contribute to the strategic objectives of the business organisation.

3.3 Critically analyse two (2) processes of managing staff performance taking into consideration the changing external environments as identified above.
