Two fonts are used in the mockup: Verdana and Segoe Script. Segoe Script is used to highlight the title of the page. The font makes the title visible as it can easily be distinguished from the rest of the page content. The font makes the text in the heading title unique and is effective in creating a heading element that captures the attention of the target audience. The rest of the page content uses Verdana font.
Typically, many web frameworks such as Twitter Bootstrap uses Verdana as the default web font as it has become a standard font in web development. The font makes the page content visible as it makes the text distinguishable based on their alignment. Since it’s a simple font, a wide range of readers can view the website without problems. The two fonts enhance the overall appeal of the design to the readers by making the page text unique.
The color scheme used in the mockup involves four colors: white, gray, orange, and light green. The light green color is used in the heading which contains a logo, title, and call to action button. The color aligns with the green leaves of tomatoes and the green banner in the logo. It complements the red color in the logo as well as the red images embedded in the section. This makes the text and content in the heading visible to readers.
The gray color is used in the second section where details about the competition are provided. The color reinforces the content visibility as it provides a light background to the black text in the section which improves usability and aesthetics. The color is also used in the footer where contact information is provided. The color enhances not the aesthetics of the page design by supporting color flow on the page.
The white color is used in the third section where more information about the competition is provided. The color enhances the perception of white space as it increases the visibility of space on the page as well as text in the middle of the section. Additionally, the orange color in the last section aligns with the red color of the tomatoes and provides a light background to the content in the section. Overall, the color scheme enhances aesthetics of the design and content visibility by providing a light background with a consistent color flow.
Seven images are used in the mockup to enhance the illustration of the page design. The images include a logo, tomato slices, tomatoes, and oval figures. The logo effectively links tomatoes and the page. The logo has several tomatoes which assist readers in understanding that the page is owned by an organization that operates in the tomato industry. The inclusion of other tomato images in the page assists in incorporating the concept of tomatoes in the design which enhances how it communicates its intended message to the readers.
The mockup incorporates alignment, white space, contrast, proximity, and white space. Text and images in the mockup are appropriately aligned to interact and make the content readable harmoniously. The color scheme used contrasts the content adding vibrancy to the page design. Related content on the place is placed in proximity which is key in organizing information in the mockup. The mockup also includes a white space which delineates sections and provides color balance in the design.
