Unconstrained Schedule
- First Draft Schedule for the Project: Network Diagram, a Schedule based on time relationships only, Resource Loading, Cash Flows and the relevant write up
- Baseline Schedule and Developing the Baseline: process and presentation
- Scope Change Section
- Report with a professional appearance with correct grammar
- Project planning software files matching the 3 sections of the report
The text across the main body of the document should not exceed 10 pages (not counting tables and figures) using 12 point font, 1.5 spacing, and one inch margins all around.
Draft the initial schedule for the project by developing a network diagram, a schedule based on time relationships, resource loading, cash flows and accompanying analysis. If you think it is necessary, refine your Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and the elemental estimates, as this is your last chance before developing the baseline schedule of the project to be submitted for implementation. If you do make any modifications, please identify them together with the reason for modification in your report.
Develop a precedence table. The precedence table must show the relationship among all the project’s activities (avoid connecting work packages or higher level deliverables) and show their start dates. Sort this table in the order which these activities need to be started. The table should not include any deliverables. All the relationships need to be defined clearly. Comments should be provided for all relationships other than FS with no lag.
Now you can develop and present a network diagram (ND) for your project (Precedence Diagram Model or project network). The ND should be presented in the following two forms:
- A summarized version with each node providing only the ID or WBS code for the corresponding activity. It should identify the critical path within the network for the entire project. This version should fit within one to a few pages.
- A version showing only the critical path(s) with each node providing basic information on the corresponding critical activity. (Alternatively, the entire network with each node providing basic information on the corresponding activity can be provided. The critical path should be identified in the network. The “expanded” network can run in to tens of pages and should be provided in appendix. Printing the network on paper is discouraged in the interest of environment.)
Check your network for optimality. Question its validity. If you find that portions of the network contain a long, serial string of elements, test the logic. Verify that any two sequential elements cannot be done in parallel because the completion of the first is truly necessary before the start of the second (check the predecessors and successors relationships).
The network must have only one element at the beginning and only one element at the end. The remainder of the elements will reside on various paths that will go from the beginning to the end of the network.
Change the Scope (This is just a "what if" analysis, make sure that you keep a copy of your baseline schedule intact). After you submit the baseline the client expresses gratitude for the baseline that you developed.
The client wishes to inform you that the management is considering some changes in the specifications. This has resulted in a request for scope changes to the project. The client understands that there may be additional costs incurred for these changes. So you are asked to do a “what if” analysis and provide your recommendation for making the final decision based on this alternate scenario.
Use the constrained schedule/baseline (from section 2 in this assignment) as the starting point. Number the activities sequentially starting from 1, skipping the deliverables and summary tasks. If you have used recurring activities, number the parent recurring activity but not the children activities (i.e., the individual instances of the activity).
The scope for some items has been increased, but the scope of other items has been reduced. The impact of changes in the scope is reflected in changes to the activities, summaries of which are given below:
Determine the increase or decrease in costs for individual activities and the WBS elements that are affected by this RFC. What are the impacts of these changes? What is the cost to the project? What is the duration impact? Provide your answers, analysis, and insights.
The client has requested a copy of MS Project (or other project planning software) file with yourproject plan and a scope change report reflecting the RFC. The report should be self contained and should include supporting tables and charts from the MSP file.
Submission Format. Please submit one zipped file that includes the files listed below:
- A report responding to everything asked for in this assignment in one PDF file.
- The PM Software (e.g., MS Project) file with the unconstrained schedule
- The PM Software (e.g., MS Project) file with the baseline schedule
- The PM Software (e.g., MS Project) file with the changed scope schedule
The following assignment has been made for the development of the improved analysis and project management for the utilization of the effective management of the work and aligning the functional management of activities. The following report would involve the completeness of the work and cohesive management of activities.

The project had been considered for the constructing the flat complex and the utilization of the construction project management principles for the alignment of the effective and improved management process. The project has been divided into phases of planning, basement and floor works, concrete works, electrical works, quality assessment, and inspections. The construction works would be required for making sure that works can be integrated with the alignment of the successful and effective management of construction works. The duration of the projects include the following phases,
Planning: the activities included in this phase are identify mission and objectives, create project charter, create business plan and issue, and create project initiation document and issue.
Design: the design phase would include the activities of the soil investigation, architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical.
Basement and Floors 1 – 9: The work required in basement and flooring include earthworks, survey, excavation, ground works, grading, water control, erosion control, underground utilities, structures, reinforcements, piles (precast), columns, columns (basement - floor 2), columns (floor 3 - 4), columns (floor 5 - 6), columns (floor 7 - 9), slab-beams, slab -beams (basement - floor 2), slab-beams (floor 3- 4), slab-beams (floor 5 - 6), slab-beams (floor 7 - 9), roofing, roofing trusses, roofing cover, concrete,
Columns: the columns of the flooring would be done by involving the following sub projects columns (basement - floor 2), columns floor (3 - 4), columns floor (5 - 6), columns floor (7 - 9).
Slab-Beams: the slam beams would include the slab-beams (basement - floor 2), slab-beams floor (3 - 4), slab-beams floor (5 - 6), slab-beams floor (7 - 8).
Stairway: Stairway construction would be sub sectioned into stairway (basement - floor 2), stairway floor (3 - 4), stairway floor (5 -6), and stairway floor (7 - 8).
Other works: some other construction works include patios, block wall-masonry, block wall, internal wall, external wall, screeding, interior –finishes, partitions, dry wall, insulation, interior doors, windows, security doors, tiles, glazing works, decoration, carpeting, mep systems
Plumbing: the plumbing works include plumbing systems (main line), plumbing systems (floor. 1-2), plumbing systems (floor. 3-4), plumbing systems (floor. 4-6), plumbing systems (floor. 7-9).
Electrical: the electrical works include electrical fixtures (distribution), electrical fixtures (floor. 1-2), electrical fixtures (floor. 3-4), electrical fixtures (floor. 5-6), electrical fixtures (floor. 7-9), sprinkler, systems controls, fire alarms, mechanical systems, mechanical fixtures (elevators etc), mechanical fixtures (floor 1- 4), mechanical fixtures (floor 5- 9).
Comments on Schedule: The project schedule has been developed using the adaptive framework and the implication of the works intrigued for the management of the operations. The project was schedule with 495 working days (summation of the duration of the critical activities). The work required for the completeness of the specific implication and management has been implied with the addition of the individual work packages. The summary tasks has been reduced to an optimum cost aligning the work developed for the consideration of the smart project completion. The total of the critical tasks duration were consider for the calculation of the work and implication of the work duration.

The management has been implied with the consideration of the resource management and processing. The alignment would be effectively managed with the work developed and aligned with the significant development.
The resources of the project has been non-uniformly distributed across the timeline and work scheduled. The bar graphs have been helpful for aligning with the formation of the works and utilization of the smart project alignment. The non-uniform deposition of the specific resources over the period of time. The requirement of the works has been diverse and it has resulted in forming the management of the specific work requirements for the users. The different level of requirements of the factors for aligning the management work development.
Resource management can be implied with the help of the resource distribution and the management of the works and implying the utilization of work for the implication. The confinement of the works with the completeness management of the resources would be effective.
