EDH182 Strategies For Academic Success

Grand Valley State is a small college in Michigan, not known for its music department. In 2007 this ensemble, made up of students from the college, set themselves the goal of performing this very difficult work at a well known festival in New York.

 

They rehearsed exhaustively for a year, together, to master this work, performed the work, met the composer, and eventually recorded an award winning album of this music.

 

From this real life example what lessons can you draw about what it means to be successful in this world?

 

We've all had bad experiences with group projects, but there is no more intense group project than a musical ensemble, what can you do to make sure the next project you are in is successful?

 

Can you think of another project of this length that you could dedicate yourself to, with a clear goal at the end, either in your education or in your life?

The critical success factors of the grand valley state university (GVSU) new music ensemble is based on the functioning of the group and its coordination. Coordination among the group members and inter- trust factor helps in maintaining the different success based ventures (Innova.mu).  The lessons that were learnt from the ensemble were based on the identification of the needs of undertaking proper methods of team coordination and the inter- trust factors that helps in maintaining the team bonding. The key success factor of the venture is based on the identification of the needs of the musicians as per the goals of undertaking the music concert. The discussion is aimed at identifying the different procedures that might be considered by GVSU in order to bring forth changes in the success fac6ors of the music ensemble.

The factors that will be helping to judge the success factors of the ensemble are to build up on the team coordination will be helping the musicians to bring in the inter- trust consideration. It will be helping the same to retain the proper functioning of the group project. On the other hand, the distribution of the roles that are required to be played by the team members help in maintaining the proper functioning of the band (Innova.mu). Coordination and cooperation among the team members play a key role in the proper functioning of the members as a part of the team and thereby adds to the success factors of the musical ensemble. The identification of the musical trends and thereby determining the type of audience helps in maintaining the success factors of the music concerts. Enhancing the involvement of the members in the different activities that are planned by the team actively supports the success factors of the team (Reich).

Therefore, it can be concluded that the coordination and the enumeration of inter- trust factor among the team members will be helping the grand valley state university new music ensemble to be successful in their future attempts. An attempt  of an musical ensemble can be made which will be aiming at raising funds for the purpose of supporting the charitable trusts. The event will be based on supporting the financial needs of the care giving organizations through the fund raising events.
