Social justice is a virtue or a concept that every nation should accord to its citizen to achieve harmonious living and peace within a country. The aspect of social justice should apply to all the nations in the world. However, countries with quite a number of immigrants and people with different colors tend to apply social injustices to the inhabitants. Racism is where a nation or people of different colors discriminate other people based on skin color and complexion. For example, has people of different colors especially the Black American who are mainly found in South America and more often are discriminated by the white American (Pound, 23). The paper will focus to explore the state of social justice and racism in America for the period between 2015 and 2018. In 2015, President Barrack Obama was the president of United States of America and had made great strides on some issues of social justice that quite a number of people believed had started moving forward. Due to protest from Native American, the president had put the Dakota Access and Keystone XL Pipelines access out of bound for health and environmental concerns of the people. In 2017, Trump came into power and reinstated the operations of the two nations in pursuit of deriving energy other than conserving the environment. This was a major issue of social injustice to the people of America. Most American believe that the most of controversial issues of 2017 would emanate in 2018 and will be more controversial than before.
America is a country that has been know of trespassing the social justice aspect all over the world. People have discriminated each other across the nation during their schooling systems where the black are discriminated by the white people and the issue is really disheartening to quite a poor of students in the nations (Ma, 12). Latinos and African American are other subjects who have experienced the social injustices in America due to their complexion and the issue has persisted in the America labor market. Social injustices have moved an extra mile to a point where there are schools, hospitals, cafes, occupational group, education and gender based on the race one comes from. Even though the government is trying so hard to end accusations relating to social injustices and fight for civil rights for its citizens (Lynch, 109). President Donald Trump decided to devise strategies to ensure that every individual receives all the civil rights entitled to them by the nations. The president decided to enact an immigration strategy that wants to see all non-Americans deported back to their home of origin so that a single color people remain in America a move which was not appreciated by many citizens. The move was not appreciated by many since it was the racial strategy that will make America more of a racist economy than a nation that accommodates all people.
Today, prisons are not for the white in America but for the people of color. It's a metaphor that means, only people of races are put behind bars for the wrongdoing even when they are not guilty. The issue fails to drive any sense into human mind since it means that every individual has the audacity of discriminating every being as long as they are not native America (LA Free 18) A survey conducted in 2015, showed that black people in prisons were as many as 5 times the number of white prisoners. Does it imply that most criminals in Africa are Latinos, Africans, or Africa-American?
People talk of America that embraces the power of consent, the ability to exercise ones believe, freedom of choice and expression and any other right that is of rationale to the American people (Lester 12). A movement against sexual abuse, imprisonment and physical harm took effect in a bid to ensure that every other non-native American being received equal rights that other Americans were accorded in order to exercise social justice (Blau 7) However, all the effort have been futile. Politics, media, government, and entertainment have shunned the female gender away because of inferiority complex and non-dominances in their relationships with others.
In a nutshell, it is quite clear that much has happened in the USA and a need to understand the essence of social justice will do the nation a great deal. There are a lot merits that comes along by exercise social justice to citizens and ensuring there is no discrimination of people based on skin color, gender, and other bases since it causes wrangles and instability within the nation. Therefore, the government has a duty of exercising due diligence by promoting the well-being of the organization.
