or to rewrite an existing story, changing one or more elements for effect.

3. If you are planning to write your own story: (a) Outline the basic plot in a few sentences. Are you planning a linear or nonlinear story? Revealed through actions? Dialogue? Descriptions?) (d) Indicate the elements of setting that you will use.
Answer:
Basic Plot:
The story start with a young boy who is 12 years old, in the middle of a family discussion where they are talking about their lifestyle as Atheists. One conversation or phrase during this discussion really sticks with the young boy, the story then fast-forwards 8 years, and the boy is seen to be living in college and is reading a bible in his dorm room. He joins a Christian religion class in college and meets a group of people there who help him understand more about the religion.
Story Structure:
The story structure will be linear, and from the first person point of view of the boy because it will give the readers a better understanding into his thought process.
Characterization:
The nature of most characters will be revealed through dramatic characterization, as we will realize the family of the boy is Atheist because of their conversation about the absurdity of God’s existence. The boy, main character, will be described using dramatic characterization as we will get an in depth view of his thoughts as the story progresses, and also through his actions and words.
Setting:
Mostly through the story, the boy will be seen alone in his room at home and in college because that is where his comfort zone is. As he starts to realize that he has an inkling towards religion, there will be a lot of conversation in his mind that will be incorporated in the story. The setting will be his childhood home for only the initial part of the story, and the rest of the story will be taking place in his college campus and in his class.
