Comparison between British Computer Society and National Computing Centre:
The British Computer Society is a learned society. This professional body represents the person that works at the field of information technology in United Kingdom and all over the world (Bcs.org 2017). This chartered institute for technology is aimed at creating the IT products and services for the greater purpose of the world. In terms of promoting the education, innovation and knowledge, the organization has taken the step of fostering the communication among academia, experts from the industry and business. On the other hand, the National Computing Centre is a non-profit, independent and research organization. It is situated in United Kingdom and was established at 70’s (Ncc.co.uk 2017). This organization is a segment of the Department or Finance and Planning. The prime purpose of NCC is strengthening Department of Finance and Planning by offering computer services to the processes that are part of budgeting, planning and financing. The biggest task of NCC is to process the payrolls of seven individual government departments. The biggest task of the British Computer Society establish good codes, working practices, common standards and skills framework by collaborating with the industry, government and relevant bodies. In order to assist the employees in adopting the best practices, British Computer Society offer consultancy to them (Bcs.org 2017).
The prime advantage of British Computer Society is that it has approximately sixty thousand member in more than hundred countries. The strength of this organization lies within its collaboration with the employers, government, media and academia. The organization has a great membership structure. The student members of the BCS gets different benefits. In terms of employees, the organization put a serious focus for making them as competitive as possible. This make the relationship with the industry employees better. The advantages of National Computing Centre are it clearly demonstrates the IT functions that carries out the business practices. In terms of delivering continuous enhancement, common framework is used by NCC for driving business performance. Consolation from a trusted hotspot for you and your partners that your business practices are ideal for the area that you work in (Ncc.co.uk 2017). The awarding body of the British education, National Computing Society, offers students the British qualification certificate that is recognized internationally. It provides lecturers so that the students can easily understand the modules and practical lessons for making them more eligible for the IT world.
From the above study it can be concluded that British Computing Society is better than the NCC. It is because BCS provide better education and offers to the students. BCS’s link with the expertise is much better than NCC. The technique of teaching is more relevant and practical in BCS.
Evaluation:
The quality of my letter that was submitted was good. Within the application, the post that was being applied for clearly mentioned by the interviewee. In addition to that, the source of the advertisement was clearly stated. The skills and abilities that I have described in the job application is adequate for the applied post. I have done a great job in creating the layout of the CV. The CV was covering up the entire areas required for applying for the post. In spite of the all the positive facts that has been described so far, the excessive use of ‘I’ word created a negative thought within the minds of the interviewers. The interviewer suggested me to use other sentences that speaks the same thing but do not use word ‘I’. I had used the phrase ‘basic knowledge of’ in the sentences. It has been implied by the interviewer that I should use phrase like ‘competent in’ unless the knowledge is truly a very basic level reading a topic or subject. The interviewers also suggested to provide more description about the employment, such as daily duties, job entailed, achievements and responsibilities, so that they can easily deduct that how I have gained the abilities and skills. In addition to that, it also support the mentioned skills and abilities that the CV holds.
The presentation was mostly related to me instead of my skills, abilities and enthusiasm for work. The presentation should have been done in such a way that my reason for working in the IT industry or applying for the job could be understood. Throughout the whole presentation my appearance was very good, especially I maintained the eye contact all that time. I have also proved that I have a very positive and professional attitude. The only fault that could be found was that I mentioned a particular task as boring. It is suggested that I should not use any direct words like this for describing any work or situation. My communication skills is very strong as per the feedback of the interviewers. Above of all, the answers that I gave was complete, concise and clear. There is a small space for improvement in the communication. I must stay conscious during next interviews and try not use the word ‘like’ many times as I did in this interview.
In my opinion, I acquire all the skills and abilities required for the job. The main reason of the interview was to get along with me and making sure that I have really got the required skills. I did not describe much about my skills and abilities which were essential. At time of proving the skills, I used a very few amount of examples. This has made a very bad impact on the interviewers. Every time the interviewer was impressed by my presentation, the lack of explanation of the skills has reduced the effect. Taken as an example, when I gave relevant arguments regarding the applied position, I made a mistake of not forcing the argument based on skills. I have proved to have a good communication skill but lack in stating the technical skills.
