History of new immigrant group
The new immigrant groups of Little India had completely settled won in the various regions of the Canadian city Toronto. The people of the Little India had settled won to the various suburbs of Toronto like Scarborough, Brampton and Missisauga. The new immigrant group slowly began to grow their business like saris, boutiques and other things. The new group began to grow when the Bollywood blockbusters were being shown in the local Eastwood theatre from 1972 (Sharma, 2017). The Old Naaz Theatre began to rent the hall for attracting the people of the region indeed. The Indian families began to wear the saris in the down town regions of Toronto indeed.
Settlement in Toronto
The Indian people began to settle down in the various regions of the Toronto city as stated above. The Indian families went on to settle down in the several wards of these regions. The houses were being rented for the residents, tourists and the passersby. The BIA manager of the region will try to look after the fact that all the people in the neighborhood will surely get their places to live indeed (Sharma, 2017). The real estate business will have to be built in these regions so the organizations could come in and invest in these regions. Some parking lots will also be there in the various regions as well. This will encourage the coming of more number of visitors indeed.
Brief description of neighborhood
The neighborhood in this region is quite a close knit one. The establishment of the Gerrard India Bazaar will surely be helpful for the people to build up a proper Indian society meeting the needs of the people indeed (Sharma, 2017). Some new traffic and road lights will be installed along with the new signs in the region. Apart from that some of the general landscapes will also have to be installed as well so the locality could be beautified. The Gerrard India Bazaar will also be spread across the Glenside and Coxwell avenues for the future development (Sharma, 2017).
Process of acculturation
The acculturation process that has been followed here is that of the assimilation. The Indian people have settled in this region to follow up the process to make it a better place indeed (Sharma, 2017). The people have come up to the area to live a peaceful life as many improvements have been done in this area using a lot of money. Some festivals, events and capital projects have been focused here for the overall success of the region.
Examples for argument
Some examples could be given in this section to argue in favor of the betterment of the region in various ways. More amount of money has been spent like $133,386 to make some development in the area (Sharma, 2017). Around 100 South Asian shops have been established in the regions so the organizations could be set up in this region to provide better facilities to the Indian people. The number of tourists has increased as around 100,000 tourists had visited in the region in 1984 (Sharma, 2017). These examples prove that many Little Indian people have become dominant in this area.
