Health care administrators are the professional team of people who hold expertise in the administration of the burgeoning sphere of health care. This discussion outlines the fact to act as a mediator in a certain hospital dispute involving renowned cardiologist- Dr. Stein and the hospital authorities. A brief explanation of the necessary steps and their rationale, to be taken, by a current or future healthcare administration leader to manage the situation, considering the best interests of all have been included in this discussion (Kongstvedt, 2012).
In the light of the legal intervention, the dispute situation has taken a drastic turn. The health care administrator needs to pacify Dr. Stein and take a last attempt to counsel him regarding the usefulness of the concerned training program. Dr. Stein must be understood that along with the proper surgery of the patients, it is also the duty of a responsible doctor to take proper after care of the patients. A doctor cannot possibly evade this responsibility. Unfortunately, if still Dr. Stein refuses to comply and cooperate with the hospital authorities, then he must be asked to duly resign from his post and make way for the hospital management to hire an acquiescent doctor in the vacated post. All the matters must be settled officially under legal supervision. Dr. Stein must also be properly compensated for the loss and any remaining due payments must be accorded to him (Hall & Bobinski, 2014).
Therefore, it can be concluded that if the above necessary steps were implemented by the health care administrator to settle the dispute, then it would be beneficial for the hospital, the patients and the medical staff. The reputation of the hospital would remain untarnished. The patients would not be deprived of the new health care programs and Dr. Stein can honorably resign from his duties and keep his repute intact.
