1.0 Meaning of Reflective essay
This is the reflective essay which is based on the personal experiences of the researcher while conducting the research. The research is based on the impact of human resource department on the business sector of Australia. The research needed various activities to be conducted to collect the data and analyse it to get the findings. This has led to the improvement in my skills and also helped me in improving my career in the field (Neck & Manz, 2010).
2.0 Scope of Reflective Essay
The research has a wide scope as human resource department is gaining much importance in the business world and slowly and gradually it is becoming the subject of research. The learning has been made in steps with the progress of the research. The research helps me to evaluate many dimensions of the field of HR. It would let me know how the performance management works and improves the performance of the workforce (Odom, Boyd & Williams, 2012).
3.0 Critical analysis
In the first week of the research, I did planning about the process of the research which is to be taken. I conducted a meeting with my mentors to discuss about the procedure of the research and how it should be carried forward. I need to learn that what should be the format of the research and what skills are need to present the research done successfully.
The next weeks of the research contains the planning about the data collection sources and how it should be done (Dyment and O’Connell, 2010). I referred various secondary sources to gain knowledge about the human resource department and their significance in the business sector of Australia. I referred various books, articles and internet resources for the same. Also, to conduct the fresh data, a questionnaire will be prepared for knowing the opinions and views of the managers and supervisors of the chosen organisation. The data research methods are also studied in order to meet the objectives of the research in the best possible manner (Al-Rawahi and Al-Balushi, 2015). These activities helped me in developing reading habits and also improved my communication skills. It I because I communicated with many managers and supervisors which built up my self-confidence. It also improved my interpersonal skills. These qualities will help me in future to keep my opinions and views in front of my seniors in a better way and will also help in communicating with co-workers and subordinates with confidence which would improve the results. Communication and interpersonal skills are the major skills which are needed to perform well in the corporate world of today (Mansor, 2011). It also helped me in developing the critical analysis skills because from the huge available data I had to choose the one which is fulfilling the purpose and meeting the objectives of the research.
Data collection is one of the major sections and parts of the research. It taught the researcher a lot about the topic and its significance. It also teaches the researcher about handling and managing time and resources. Research is a complete process which develops the researcher for the future career. It teaches time management, scheduling and management of resources. These skills would help me in fulfilling my roles properly in future. Time management and utilisation of available resources in the best way will also enhance the activities in my personal life (Hilden and Tikkamäki, 2013). I gained some fresh insights about the topic which is very important to apply. I applied all the theoretical learning’s taken from my mentors and professors into the project. This made me learn that how to deal with the things in the practical life.
With the process of research I got to know my inner strengths and weakness from which I was unaware earlier. The process of research taught me the concepts of problem solving and decision making at critical situations which filled me up with confidence and an urge to enter into the field of research (Helyer, 2015). It developed managerial skills in me which would definitely contribute in making me mature enough for my career.
In the next weeks of the research process I learned to take initiative and also learned to analyse the data collected through various analytical methods which developed my knowledge about the analytical tools. I learned how one should observe the data and present them in the best possible manner. The last few weeks of the research taught me that how the presentation could me made effective to allure the ones who are going to evaluate (Palmer, Holt and Bray, 2008). This instilled me with the innovative capabilities to boost up the quality of the research and to show my skills (Helyer, 2015). I feel that the research has made me competent for the highly competent world of business. It also helped me in showing my skills in the HR field about which I have lot of knowledge now. It made me learned that the small businesses are the ones which are facing difficulties in applying an implementing the strategies. The research made me learned that how to critically evaluate the information and conduct a debate and arguments within the own thoughts and the data available. I am inspired by a lot of people which I met which will also contribute in giving me confidence to perform goo in the future. It will also make me confident in handling my problems in personal life.
It can be concluded that Research project is purely a good learning process for an individual. It helped me in fostering my growth for future. This growth can be personal as well as professional. This will contribute in future in my career as performing research helps in developing the major management qualities like time management, self-confidence, critical analysis, problem solving , decision making and more. These skills are not only important for performing well at work but are also important for personal life. The project will help me in getting good grades so that could complete my course or program well and will improve my presentation skills for now and for future.
