The purpose of the report is to understand the trending technology Internet of Things clearly. It will provide the complete information concisely ("The Purpose of Reports", 2018). After understanding the topic, it needs to be analyzed carefully. This will help the students to gain knowledge about the topic like real world applications of it, effect that the project can have on people as well as environment. The advantages and disadvantages of the project will be clear and accordingly practical work can be planned.
Strategies can be implemented to reduce the negative effects of the project. After analyzing all these information, keywords of the project is identified. This will help to proceed with the research work easily. This report will also help the students identify industry sectors that will be served by the project, extra benefits that it will have on economy of the country, way it will contribute to the upliftment of society ("Writing reports — University of Leicester", 2018). Response to Question 2:
The topic chosen for this report is IoT Smart city. Internet of Things helps to monitor and control various devices remotely (Theodoridis, Mylonas & Chatzigiannakis, 2013). The technology has taken great initiative to transform a city into a smart city. The essential components of a smart city are smart development, smart services and smart life. Some sensors are installed that are connected to internet through several protocols (Soumyalatha, 2016). It helps to interchange and communicate information for recognizing, locating, managing, monitoring and tracking devices intelligently. IoT provides the technical support required for a smart city.
A smart city has three features- interconnected, intelligent and instrumented (Gaur, Scotney, Parr & McClean, 2015). It offers smart solutions to the pollution problem of different cities. IoT smart cities have specific benefits like they are significantly efficient, integrated and secured. Smart cities provide clean water, non-poisonous gas and ad efficiently delivers public lighting. All these services are provided by the smart city with the help of Internet of things. They help to save the natural resources and improve the quality of life of the people living in the city.
Response to Question 3:
The format of the report is given below:
First the Abstract or the executive summary will be written. Then introduction of the report that will be of two to three paragraphs followed by the background of the report ("Structure of the report", 2018). Within the background, there will be literature review that will describe an example of the situation. The review should critically analyze the information provided by the author.
It should also be successful in explaining the issues that the author has given. The background should also include full description of the IoT technology. Background is followed by findings, solutions and recommendations, then the future research, advantages and disadvantages followed by conclusion and references ("Basic report structure.", 2018). Benefits and challenges of Internet of things are added to the report from the finding and analysis of the topic. A brief presentation of the report should be provided along with report.
Response to Question 4:
Various questions are raising with the use of Internet of Things to make a smart city. The disadvantages of using them are compatibility issues. Mainly no international standard sets the compatibility for monitoring the systems (Bhayani, Patel, & Bhatt, 2016). However, eliminating this problem is significantly easy. The next problem is complexity (Cviti?, Vuji? & Husnjak, 2016). From the name itself, it suggests that it is an integrated system. Therefore, complexity is high. With high level of complexity, there is more probability for the failure of the system.
Internet of Things also utilizes information systems that makes it even more complex (Zhang et al., 2015). If failure of the system arises then it will become difficult to recover them. It is too hard to maintain the system. Question arises here. If there are various problems that then why do we use Internet of things? Another question that arises is regarding the privacy and security of the system. Smart city utilizes information systems with integration with IoT for the communication of interchange of data. There are high risks of losing the data that are being transmitted. Therefore, the question is how can privacy and security be improved

A new era is being cherished that is revolutionizing technology and this is called Internet of Things. This helps connection between two machines, infrastructure and machine and between the environment and the machine. Internet is everywhere and Internet of things provides an additional effect of intelligence to the system. Internet of things comprises of machines that are interconnected with the other machines for communicating and exchanging information and data. This technology is now being used in the creation of a smart city. Smart city means the city that makes all development smartly and thrives to improve quality of life of the people. They deal with huge amount of data, which are being processed by IoT. However, there are some disadvantages of using IoT like complexity, security issue and so on.
