Research Design according to Ashworth and Perera (2018) is the set of different methods that are used in the collection and analysis of the measures of the variables specified in the research problem. The following research will use the analytical or the descriptive research design to complete the research. Research Design helps in the proper formulation of the report and thus helps the researcher to construct an effective and transparent research. However the research design has many limitations as because the initial stages of the particular study will be given a miss in this particular case study. The researcher will also be unable to derive the relationship between the variables that exist in the research.

The formulator of the following research will be choosing the descriptive or analytical research design for the conduction of the study. The key reason behind the selection of the particular research design is the capability of the design to provide the best inputs or the information. The information retrieved is of the highest quality and generally contains the different things that are needed by the researcher. The various theories and other information is thus necessary for the researcher to conduct the study in a much better way (Creswell and Creswell 2017). The following method will also be helpful for the researcher to critically assess the research study accordingly. Apart from this the other two designs will be rejected by the researcher because of their inability to provide a detailed analysis of the causes that lie in the “Delay of the construction projects in Qatar”.  

The following research will be using the online questionnaires and face to face interviews for the conduction of the research. The SPSS method will be used to analyze the contents of the data obtained from the research procedures.

The research topic which is the factors involved in the delay of Qatari construction projects will require the viewpoint of the workers as well as the managing directors of the company. The researcher will be using the help of the survey and interview method to determine the “Appropriate causes behind the delay in the Construction Industry in Qatar”. The researcher will use both face to face interview as well as online interviews to conduct the particular study.

Setting here refers to the different geographical places where the interviews or the research will be conducted.  According to, Govindan Shankar and Kannan (2016) the settings of the research is utmost important to the success of the research. A proper place to conduct the research will help both the research participants and the researcher to assist each other mutually. The researcher will use the corporate offices of the considered companies in this regard to conduct the interviews of the managers. On the other hand he will have to interview the workers in the construction sites during recess period.  

Operationalisation of Conceptual Research Questions

As mentioned earlier the researcher will have to sort out a number of workers and managers of the construction companies of Qatar. The researcher will have to select a limited number of persons as the research participants to ensure the maximum use of the limited resources available for the research. The researcher can select at least 10 employees along with 5 managers to complete the survey and interview method in the research. The selection of the population on the other hand is key to the success of the research as because the selection of efficient and experienced persons in his particular sector is quite important in this regard to get the actual picture of the construction industry of Qatar. The employees will be selected from 4 different Construction Companies of Qatar. This process will also apply for the selection of the managers.

As mentioned earlier sampling or the selection of the participants will be done in this particular research to complete the survey and interview method. The survey will be carried upon 10 different employees along with 5 managers. The researcher will use both the probability and non-probability sampling methods to complete the following procedure. The main technique to be used in this process will be the Simple Random Sampling Technique. The researcher will mainly concentrate in the collection of the secondary data for the particular analysis on the construction industry of Qatar. The secondary research articles will be collected from the different secondary sources like that of the construction magazines, journals and earlier research articles on the same topic and most importantly the reports of the companies operating in Qatar.

According to, Kratochwill (2015) ethics is one of the main considerations during the conduction of any kind of research. In this particular research the researcher must ensure the success of the research by means of maintaining proper ethical standards. First and foremost it will be the duty of the researcher to ensure the safety and security of the research participants and ensure their privacy. The researcher must not also disclose the responses and must not manipulate or force them to deliver responses according to the choice of the researcher. Thus honesty and integrity will be the most basic elements of the research. The researcher must also be sure to take the prior permission of the Companies and the university before conducting the research surveys and interviews. Most importantly they must have a written letter of permission from the participants for their nod to participate in the research. The confirmation letter must also have the clause to allow the participants to discontinue their participation in the research at any given point of time. Apart from this the researcher will not practice plagiarism and will thus submit a transparent and plagiarism free research article. The researcher must also ensure that the research does not copy the style and presentation of any other research.

Sampling and Recruitment Strategy

The research tools that will be used for the particular study will be used to analyzer the responses of the survey. The Main research tools that will be used will be basically different types of software that are generally used to determine the results from the data about the Qatari Construction industry that will be collected via primary sources.

The data will be analyzed through the use of different kinds of charts and tables which will help to get a clear and detailed understanding of the deduced data and figures. The quantitative data will be transformed into percentages and then they will be demonstrated by means of different charts, graphs and tables. The mean, median and mode will also be derived to get a clear understanding of the standard deviation of the different kind of findings. On the other hand the qualitative data will be analyzed by means of a thematic analysis which will be the interview with the managers of the construction companies in Qatar. The data analysis tools however may face issues as the software may be obsolete or may be not upgraded to the latest version. Apart from this malfunctions in the system can also lead to haphazard results.

The validity of the different kind of information and the research methods will be measured and tested accordingly. The main reason behind such a measure is to ensure the proper and effective genuineness of the research information (Lewis 2015). Reliability can be said to be a tool that can be said to be the degree to which the assessment tool can easily produce the stable and consistent result of the different kinds of data that will be sued in the particular research. The validity and reliability of the information used for the particular research is very much important to the success of the business. The information regarding the cultural concepts must be collected from genuine sources to ensure the genuineness of the research.
