Question

Part 1: Summary of Research Article

Find a scholarly journal article (a primary source) that reports research on a social psychological topic that interests you.  To become familiar with contemporary research, the article must be published in the Journal of Experimental Social Psychology within the last year. Please see the resources on Blackboard for finding scholarly articles using the Seneca library databases.

After carefully reading the chosen article, write a summary of the study in your own words, as if you were describing the article to a friend or family member.  In your summary be sure to answer the following questions, although not necessarily in this order:

  • Which article did you choose?
  • What was the research about? What were the mainhypotheses?
  • Briefly describe in layperson terms the methodology used by the researchers
  • Summarize in your own wordsthe mainresults of the study in a manner that anyone can understand. Consequently, you should not report any numbers/ statistics in your summary
  • What final conclusions did the researchers reach based on their results?

Part 2: Personal Reflection

Next you will reflect on the implications of the research summarized in Part One and offer suggestions for future research. Some questions to consider include:

  • Why did you choose this article? That is, why is the content or topic of this paper important for YOU?
  • How does the article apply to the real-world and/or how can the findings be used in everyday life?
  • What are some of the limitations of the study you reviewed?
  • What are some additional questions on the chosen topic that still need to be answered in future research and how would you test them?

Answer: Slide 1: Introduction The Cialdini’s principles have proved critical in defining and influencing a individual’s behavior (Cialdini, 2009). Without a doubt, they are triangulated on social factors thus viewed as common forces. These forces act on human behaviors to influence human thinking (Duncan, Miller, Wampold, & Hubble, 2010).
