The goal is for nursing students to develop a health information piece and demonstrate teaching – learning interactions and dialogue within a health fair environment. These activities will provide increased visibility of health and wellness and may motivate participants to make a positive health behaviour change. Students are to ensure that they are teaching something – not just handing out material. Each student should be able to: explain the rationale behind their developed material, demonstrate that they are able to speak to the topic and informatively answer questions relating to their health information.

The target audience of this teaching plan are parents of teenagers, adults and even children who are matured enough to understand the importance of immunization. The increasing number of reported diseases calls for free vaccination programs and campaigns for making people aware of these programs. People need to be conscious about the perils of viral diseases and the ways they can prevent them.
The class representative and a health conscious student with eloquent speaking skills and convincing abilities will be allotted with the responsibility of reaching the learning objective. They will be asked to assist in the activities and communicate with the target audience for spreading awareness.
For meeting the objective, an awareness campaign will be arranged for. Designing a communication toolkit is highly beneficial for reaching out to potential audience. The teaching plan will include word games and quizzes (Su and Cheng, 2013) so that learners are made aware of the diseases and are encourage to take the vaccinations. Online advertisement and printed handouts will inform the people of the event. A meeting could be conducted between the target audiences, wherein they will be asked to answer some health-related questions. Health and environmental experts, school and parent communities can be used as resources for attaining the objectives and maximizing the outcome. These communities can be asked to assist in the campaigns, work as volunteers and try out samples.
PPT presentations will be used for demonstrating and elaborating on the probable diseases an individual might contract if not vaccinated. The Internet can be used both as a source and a tool for teaching plans. Podcasts will be used for reaching out to a wider audience. Some academic journals could be distributed among the target audience to help them gain an insight into the importance of the issue. In class, the students will be shown documentaries on viral diseases and its preventive measures.
The content analysis method of evaluation is useful for verifying the effectiveness of the teaching plan (Neuendorf, 2016). The evaluation will have a qualitative approach for analyzing the outcome of the plan. However, a quantitative method need to be adopted for estimating the number of students who turned up for the event. Conveying the right message to the right people could be a little difficult due to limited resources and the stigma surrounding vaccinations since it is deemed unhealthy, rather harmful in some families.
