Marketing Campaign

The purpose of this essay is to discuss my experience in working with team in a new organization with great potential. AWOL Adventure is a photo sharing platform mainly interests the sports events organizers, it is a technology-based company that is specialized in delivering photos of mass sports evets including Marathons and cycling. The company keeps the products available for the participants so that they can easily buy their photos in the events from the website of the company. The company mainly follows seven steps to reach the customers. These are creating awareness, influence, buy, prepare, perform, relive and repeat.

As a team member of the marketing campaign of AWOL Adventure, my objective was to match the expectation of the clients with the capability of the company. The company aims to broaden the usage of its platform to the international photography companies so that they can get a platform to stage their talents thus meet the potential clients. The intervention was planned to conduct a thorough market analysis and identify the strength and weaknesses of the plan. Through this detailed analysis, the company can judge the size of the markets and the strength of potential competitors already present in that market.

In my team there are five team members including me who are of different cultural and social background. I chose this team for accomplishing this task as I know the value and potential of this type of teams. The teams with more variety of the members’ perspectives, have more varied idea to express. My partners carry a vast experience as well as expertise in their own respected fields. Hence there was a perfect culmination of different thoughts which we all possess (Salmon, Stanton and Jenkins 2017). However, the decisions used to be made through perfect mix of skills that effectively goes beyond the scope of any individual. Initially when I started this particular project, I felt numerous differences that I never faced before. First of all, my choice of the project was much difficult as the company has various weaknesses to overcome. The competition in the photography industry is much more in the global context and creating an effective brand awareness is the most difficult thing I felt. Most importantly, there were a financial problem which prevented us to buy better equipment for the company (Matthews and McLees 2015). All of the team members faced another important issue that is the limitation of workforce for which we faced problem to accomplish a task. However, the issues regarding the company structure and combativity were reduced by applying our own CRM Software.

Besides working under such circumstances of the company I faced initial difficulty in working with team also. This is due to the reason my perspective was quite different from he perspective of the team members and as we made decisions based on the opinions of each member, hence it took time to complete one process (Stephens et al. 2016). Despite the fact that team collaboration was a crucial part of my job, making effective decisions quickly is also essential for the business to thrive.  However, through my flexibility in the group setting I managed the whole and particularly focused on the part for which my team needed me (Kozlowski et al. 2015). In some of the cases I had to work autonomously where I realized that I was capable of becoming a positive as well as a contributing member in the team-based projects. Despite the fact that there were many problems in the team but I see the team projects to be an opportunity for learning new skills. By means of judge ng the team perspective I have learnt plentiful of new methods of working and decision making. For example, I have learnt how to participate in the planning method or the process of making decisions to solve any kind of problems so that the customers can be served better. Through team perspective I have learnt to increase participation in the team so that better understanding of decision can be promoted, more support can be gained to implement the plans and more ownership of decisions, processes as well as changes can be attained (Goetsch and Davis 2014). Through working with team, I have gained more capability and willingness for participating in the performance evolution as well as improvement. The process of adapting different ideas and plans of different team members to fit knowledge, skill and abilities of the organizational process so that the customers can be served efficiently.

Working with Team

As mentioned before, the fullest participation of the team members is necessary for the success of the projects hence making any type of decision, we clearly clarified the task. This is how the skills of each of the team members could be utilized in each section (Galegher, Kraut and Egido 2014). The process of using all the present opportunities in this particular project, we identified the expectations of the clients so that we can cater all the needs in one hand and build our organization at its best. We built rich network, ability and passion for converting to the loyal customers within a short time. We created proper brand awareness with the limited resources we had and hired the right members in a right order.

In the process of knowing how the members behave we needed to gain proper knowledge of proper business objectives such as attracting, converting, selling and retaining the customers. Despite the fact that the customer surveys and trouncing data may help any team to understand these factors but customer realities often conflict with the business measurements (Valentine, Nembhard and Edmondson 2015). The clients intervene our business in different method as they have some basic dislikes like lack of clarity, perceived low value and long waiting on which they do not do anything but these factors affected the service of the companies like us. However, the responses of the customers regarding our products were quite clear and positive. Our business as chiefly caters the needs of the customers built as through this the connection between the company and the clients gets strong (Brennan and Enns 2015). This is due to the fact that our company collect as well as examine a huge number of data from various sources so that we can understand different needs of the customers and switch our products or bring changes to measure the satisfaction and likelihood of the customer context, this had enhanced the profitability as well as effort of our team to serve.

Therefore, it can be said that the feeling of working together with team of members with diverse cultural and religious background was more exciting and benefitting than working individually. Through working in this method, I have learnt a huge number of skills that had helped me to overcome some of my relativity thrives when I started to work together on a team. There are brainstorming ideas that flourished among us as teamwork prevented stale viewpoints and by combining some unique perspectives from each of the team member created more operative selling solutions. During my work in the team my experience was completely different from that of my other team members. My perspective often differed from them therefore, I could maximize my shared knowledge in creating new skills in me. The team work has also helped me to blend complementary strengths as we started to rely on one another and observed the process behindhand these skills. Thus, I could learn how to combine my gifts and strengthen team.

In working with team, I faced many issues and numerous conflicts emerged inevitably. Our employees actually come from various backgrounds hence have a different work style as well as habits. The unique viewpoints possessed by the team members could create the most successful work and hence generated resentment. This quickly turned into conflict which gradually taught me to develop conflict resolution skills. By encouraging healthy risk taking I could motivate the team members so that I could measure the actual position of the firm and bring changes in the products and services meeting their needs. By thinking out of the box I could contribute the best ideas and built a healthy network with the clients and other stakeholders. I learnt to create more impressive results in the workplace which again was the result of identifying my weaknesses. I built my connection with the team through showing respect to their ideas and creativity at the time of decision making process. At the time of conflicts, I often felt emotional and disagreed with the team members but when I came out of my own perceptions and saw the matter from the team perspective, I could realize the gap and felt good. Similarly, we built good connection with our clients. By knowing their perspective also, I could understand what basically they want from us thus can gain advantage in connecting with customers. Through working with team and choosing this project I have learnt to be patient and get the best result out of effort and knowledge.
