The article depicts different challenges within the organization that leaders face throughout the world. Inside any organization, leaders need to deal with many people. In order to improve the organizational efficiency, they need to motivate a group of people with various cultural as well as other diversities in an organization. Some leaders can effectively handle all the challenges but some may find difficulty in doing so. The author identified six key challenges that a leader can face while working in their workplaces. In particular, the article depicted, 763 practicing managers from 7 different countries participated in a research where they were asked to share their experiences on the kind of challenges they faced in the organization. The research reflected various kinds of challenges that include developing managerial effectiveness, inspiring others, developing employees, leading a team, guiding change, managing internal stakeholders and politics within the organization. However, overcoming the challenges can also be possible and in order to achieve that, some strategies are necessary such as goal setting, delegating more, gaining some role clarity and working on the tasks that maximize the unique value add of the managers. Moreover, developing relationship among the employees and the clients can also be challenging for a manager.
The article used a thematic analysis method to find the research result. Finally, the article concluded that active participation of the managers and effectiveness of teamwork is also essential in order to overcome the challenges within the organization faced by the leaders. Although, there was a limitation that managers from only seven countries participated in the research process. Therefore, the article clearly depicted the challenges of leaders and also illustrated some recovery strategies to overcome the challenges in an organization. In order to omit the limitation of the research, participants from more countries should be included and some more professional strategies must be chosen for the analysis to remove the discrepancies in the research method and to produce a better outcome (Gentry, Eckert, Stawiski & Zhao, 2014).
