Ways By Which A News Item Does The Illustration Of Corporate Governance
According to the reports provided by ABC News, assurances have been made relating to the changes that are taking place at the NSW Far West Local Health District, after an investigation found serious governance problems.
In the last two years, the Local Health District (LHD) that is providing services far west NSW including Broken Hill, has been subjected to various other investigations as well as inquiries in the last two years.
According to results of a 2016 audit into the governance of the LHD, it was found that the board was not being successful in meeting its obligations and that there were several incomplete strategic as well as policy documents, which did not fulfil their purpose.
The report also stated that two board members questioned the validity of the LHD’s financial reports as well as the integrity of the financial processes (Scott, 2014).
The ABC is having the understanding that there have been two other reviews of the LHD since the audit relating to governance. One of them was initiated by NSW Health, with an investigator doing the interview of the staffs and the other was instigated by the LHD board in reply to the complaints (Liaw, 2014).
In 2015, the governance audit and subsequent investigations did the following of two inquiries relating to the allegations of bullying and a poor culture at the LHD. The allegations were not substantiated in either view.
